I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the paint defect that Paul Hollywood spotted and the paint quality guy had just missed.

+1.
That sort of stuff is fine over on Pie&Piston which, after all, is a bit chavvy and argumentative but on here one is entitled to ask why you say that? I thought he came over very well and clearly loves his cars. Decent bloke I thought.

p.s. Does anyone know if Cloverleaf (the grey Bamford & Martin car they drove up Aston Hill) has a centre throttle pedal?

Just watched it and really enjoyed the program.
Also thought Paul Hollywood came across really passionate about the whole brand and what it represents.

I enjoyed it.. Paul did come over as a complete OCD Astonaught... damn nice fella - and seeing him with Andy P and Marek post race chat... they all seem petrolheaded and made me just want to go and look at mine!

Great to see the DBR.. and the DB10

I'll probably watch it again later :-)

Me neither. He seemed very genuine. The knob was the guy from the owners club.

I met Paul Hollywood at Le Mans - stood on the terrace watching the race on the Saturday evening. Had a decent chat over a beer; down to earth, genuine and most definitely passionate about the brand. Absolutely no hint of any knobness whatsoever.

Now, I'm off to the cinema room in the east wing to watch a re-run of last night's programme - just as soon as Jeeves returns from walking the corgis.

I concur. Having watched this and the 'who do you think you are?' he did recently, it is clear he is very different from his GBBO persona.

Re-watched it again this evening with the Mem Sahib, thoroughly enjoyable.

I'm off to rummage around on the amoc website now and see how much of a roasting their man Mark is getting biggrin

All good for the brand but quite a mish mash, light and often random programme in my view. They needed a series of 3! Did he really visit Gaydon 'twice' ? And don't get me started on how he washed/dried that car. Shudder! Really related to his paintwork OCD thoughspin. All good exposure though according to a few chaps who flew in for our banquet this evening.

Ha, yes - if he's at LeMans again next year I'll be having a word about him using an old pair of pants - I'm surprised Paddy hasn't popped up somewhere for a rant.

He was probably handed the rag and bucket for a 'film demo' clean - the place he was cleaning it didn't look that Aston Martinish (oops, sorry snob brigade! smile )

Agree - very common to wash them outdoors (with old M&S underpants) ;-)

To my absolute horror the very car driven by the baker has now been badly damaged. I do make a DBR1 inspired Replicar if they fancy racing one next time, much cheaper to repair, the whole kit is only £5k. Shameless advert.

Unless either of you know him first hand I wish such comments would leave PH. And "I met him in a pub once while he was with his friends and he didn't talk to me" doesn't count.

Badly damaged but totally repairable, all adds to the cars history and much better that it's used as it was designed too, rather that hidden away under a dust sheet.

I watched the program last night and thoroughly enjoyed it and thought Paul Hollywood's enthusiasm came over very well. Probably a front-runner for the Top Gear job given he's a good pall of Chris Evans scratchchin
