Well, count me in. For me, Burghley follows Mod Ball which follows Le Mans. Anyone know a good solicitor?

Booked the George for the Friday and Saturday.
Looking forward to it already, as I kicked myself for not getting my act together in time last year.

Good work Ed. Booked the George for Fri and Sat (they have cottoned on and are only taking reservations for 2 nights now). Even persuaded the missus to join us (that is a first - last year's sunny picture helped wink )

Burghley was the first and as yet only Aston event we've attended. After this I decided to actually buy one and am loving it. biggrin Hopefully Mrs Q and I will be back next year. Here's a couple of photos what were for me the highlights.

Great news there in a couple of posts, firstly I'm pleased you got in at the George Steve,I'll see you in there.

Secondly, I'm pleased the event pushed you over the line into ownership Quarterly and I hope to see you on parade with your Aston in July.

Funnily Burghley inspired several people into making strides into Aston ownership as another chap came forward at the event and before you knew it
we had him switched from a staunch Jag man of many a year into a Newbie Astoneer……..smile

So next July he's displaying his lovely Red DB9 coupe.

Don't be shy remember Burghley's for you and is a case of the more the merrier……...thumbup

Just wondering why people are booking Friday and Saturday for the hotel? I thought the event was on the Sunday? or is something happening Saturday as well?

People arrive in town and get ready to party from the Friday afternoon onwards simply because they can't wait any longer for the main event……..bounce

Hopefully, as we are currently looking at putting on a Pre Event for you all to enjoy if you choose on the Saturday and possibly a group meal on the Saturday night.

I'm not promising to organise the Group meal bit as frankly it was scary last time to sort and very, very time consuming, that said we will see.

Volunteer's welcomed for that one………….scratchchin

Also people arrive so they have time to enjoy Stamford itself, some of the guys will be off to the Bespoke Tailors to order hand made shirts etc whilst others
enjoy the Antique Shops or simply the old'e world Pubs that are throughout the town.

There's plenty on offer whether you come on a Friday or just the for main event on the Sunday but the main thing is that everyones welcome………..thumbup

So, um, what is the "main event"? Is it standing in a field looking at cars that all look the same?

Ed, the Saturday evening dinner was great fun.
Why don't you get the hotel to organise it,after all they are benefiting from our custom.
They can post up the menu choice,as before, then we can phone or email the hotel and pay them direct.
I don't mind trying to arrange that.

Except they don't. Rather, I hope mine doesn't look like yours nah, na, nah nah. laugh
We had a great day in 2014, arrived, looked at some cars, talked to loads of people, had a picnic, had a nice walk round the gardens especially the water garden, visited the house, bought something in the charity auction etc. a great day.

Its a gathering of owners and enthusiasts that enjoy the surroundings of a loverly setting with the backdrop of assorted related companies that give their time to come along
to show case their companies and cars,by doing so helping raise a few bob for charity.

Its a friendly and welcoming event that caters for all era's of Aston Martins whether it's pre war or the latest from the line at Gaydon and I''m sure it further encourages people into
the brand and/or to update their current models thus hopefully helping to secure the Company going forward.

Please feel free to join us and enjoy a pleasant day or long weekend amongst some fantastic cars and brilliant and enthusiastic owners…….smile

But in a nut shell its some posh cars in a posh field with a begging bowl pending your mind set…..rolleyes

Nice one Ed. Congratulations on being brave enough to do it all again and I would add, as others have said already, what a fine job you made of it last time.

It will be a great event in the Aston calendar and I hope the sun will shine for you and that you make lots of money for charity. It was good to see the photos again too - I even spotted myself and the legend that is Tony Hall in the same pic! smile

Great people (aka socialising without t'internet)
£10k raised for charity
Holiday
Stunning location
Spitfires at full chat (2014)
Lovely hotel
Great food
Greater wine
Lovely village
Making new like minded friends & actually not having to keep quiet about your Aston
Ad hoc self help support groups (soft paint, ventilated seat issues, bits to get in carbon, )
A little 'amble' with a few cars beforehand
Missus gets enjoyment out of the cost/sacrifices these cars entail
Stands & merchandise
Pork pies on a blanket

Ohh and yes and standing in a field looking at iconic cars - with tons of photo ops.

Not looking forward myself wink

Over the years I've been to several car events.
This is by far the most enjoyable.
It's a friendly crowd and it's nice to meet the PH'rs on this forum.
Ed puts on a really good event with things to interest any normal person ( that might not include you then ). laugh
No offence intended but Ed works very hard to provide us with this event so it's a bit unfair to jump to conclusions if you've never been.
