Has anyone looked at just fitting new speakers to the 160w system?
All Vantage speakers are the same independently if you have the 160w or 700w system. They are Thai made with low stability and a tendency to distort under load. I replaced both door and rear speakers in my 160w system with MB Quart premium high performance speakers. The difference is that magnificent, a clear bright and warm sound with is in particular fine if you like rock music.

In parallel the workshop also bonded felt strips under the speaker covers to eliminate creaking noise. Great thing, No distortion any longer once you started the party...

I do like your preference Lee, but I chose the other one because it is an instrumental.

I even have my special version of Living Daylights, which includes edits of the Vantage exhaust under full acceleration, at appropriate parts of the music track. Microphone in the boot works well for recording, because there are no wind noise problems.

I think I'm right in saying that the standard system is only stereo (plus sub) so nothing under the rear speaker grilles whereas with the premium system they are all wired up?

The 700w was in my "nice to have" rather than "must have" list. The car I bought two months ago ticked all my "must haves" but came with the 160w. I've used it properly twice, on five hour drives, and it sounds fine and has plenty of volume. The rest of the time I'm just listening to the car! smile

This is my first post on the pistonheads forum and i hope you can help me as an enthusiastic diy'er with some expert information.

I have a 2007 V8 Vantage with the standard 160W stereo and i have just purchased a Pioneer TS-WX130EA active subwoofer to hopefully give a bit more base installed in the rear of the vehicle.

I have stripped down the centre console and removed the radio facia and was hoping to find something that I could have related to the Pioneer diagrams but it's not that straight forward. Coming out from behind the radio unit there is a white connector with what looks like it might be the 4 speaker wires?

I have searched the Pistonheads vantage forums for information but nobody seems to have carried out this specific installation and/or shared their details.

Can you please tell me if this is possible, or if I'm wasting my time and if it is how I would wire the Pioneer subwoofer into this system.

Thanking you in anticipation,
