Looks like the Kermit Green GT12 is actually Lambo Mantis Verde, although I wonder if they are actually the same paint code?
Anyway its up for sale at HR Owen and in my eyes it's stunning! This is the car which inspired my choice of Kermit Green for my very imminent V12VSM!

Can someone enlighten me as to why on earth you would go for the hugely expensive CF roof, magnesium wheels, CF parcel shelf, CF badges and other lightweight options, but then combine them with electric seats and B&O stereo, both of which add weight, ruin the aesthetics (in such an aggressive looking car) and are totally un necessary - the lightweights only move in a couple of directions and the B&O will barely be heard above the de-catted GT12 engine noise
It's hardly the worse crime in the world, but it smacks of someone just ticking every box on the options sheet rather than actually thinking about it

Understand your point - one thing - is the carbon fibre roof actually lighter? Or just a "veneer" on top of the aluminium? If it's a veneer then surely it weighs more than paint and thus increases mass? It's hardly the worse crime in the world, but it smacks of someone just ticking every box on the options sheet rather than actually thinking about it
The B&O is pretty loud and I believe you can hear it above any road-legal engine noise. Certainly at full volume mine is louder than war...
Agree totally on the spec
Now if I remember correctly the carbon fibre roof saves 1.8kg of weight (for a cost of £6k). Now even allowing for it being at the top of the car, it really needs to be viewed as a cosmetic element rather than a genuine performance enhancement
Nobody has been able to tell me the weight impact of going for electric seats but with my very old M3 it was something like 7lb a seat. The Aston Martin mechanisms might be lighter than that though
the B&O adds a lot to weight (5kg+) but not been able to get a precise figure
Of course all this pales in comparison with the potential weight loss the driver (me) may be able to achieve post Christmas!

On B&O, I've had it on a previous Vantage. I think it's a waste of time personally over the premium audio and I'm someone that has had £10k car hifis in the '90s and multiple monoblock amps per channel on my home hifi. But I do get why it suits some people for some cars. However it doesn't seem to suit GT12 - for reasons of weight which was the main thrust of my post (given the weight saving option boxes ticked) but also, because it just seems so out of character in the interior which is trying to look like a race/track car, to have electrically rising speakers on the dash
Can you hear it over the GT12 engine ? Possibly. Would you want to ? No..........

I think its great that its got those extras . After all i bet it won't be going on a track , will probably sit in someone lounge behind a glass screen it would if it where mine.
I agree & that would be a great shame, the new owner has a civic duty it make as much noise around the highways & byways of the UK spreading the joy!cayman-black said:

If so, even more reason not to have the electric seats given how cheap the switches lookGassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
