Exactly!! Aston Martin have built around 75,000 cars in the last 102 years. Around 90% of them are still on the road. They are built from the best materials/components, and are built to last. Anybody that has been around the factory, and seen what goes into building an Aston Martin, knows how cheap they are compared to other brands, especially steel bodied competitors!
You make a good point. Especially to all the environmentalists saying were awful people for having big engine cars. At least they are not little disposable euro boxes which have a life span of about 10 years. They are then either scrapped or left rotting.
Once an Aston has been built its around for an awful long time

To some extent I would agree- but to some I'd question. As much as Aston do make an undoubtedly beautiful car, sadly, the build quality isn't always the best. Time served is no guarantee of expertise. In theory, it should indeed be this way, but Aston was a cash strapped company for so long and it shows. Minor niggles like paint bubbling around door handles and shut lines, clutch squeaks, trim rattles, condensation in light fittings - these are things that just shouldn't be happen in cars that cost upwards of 100K. As much as they're still around, this is really a credit to the owners that spend money correcting these foibles or simply live with them. Competition from the Italians and German's is steep - and I fail to see why after 102 years of product development and engineering - Aston can't get basic things right. At least they are not little disposable euro boxes which have a life span of about 10 years. They are then either scrapped or left rotting.

Would all of this be enough to have me sell my V12? Not in the slightest. Because engineering doesn't buy you soul

I nearly gave up until the right one came along from nowhere - gotta keep checking! What's your budget?
My budget is some way off at the moment unfortunately since my oil investments, and I use the term investment loosely, went tits up.I would need values to fall a fair amount from where they are or a miraculous turn-around in the price of oil. Failing that, it gives me something to look forward to in a few years I suppose!
My car is going! will appear on PH soon no doubt.
Really have enjoyed V12V ownership, its a very special car and I thought I would have mine until next year but a friend is selling something very special to me and I didn't think I would get the opportunity.
Will post some pics once the deal is done.

Well it looks like the dealers have caught on to the lack of V12v manuals for sale.
Ones just popped up on the AM website. 2011. £50 short of 100k
Wow. £15k more than what I paid for a 2012 Carbon Black in December. It does have a bit fewer miles.Ones just popped up on the AM website. 2011. £50 short of 100k
BTW does anyone know if the AM assured 1 year warranty is transferable?

If it's being sold by Aston then it will have a fresh 12 month one.BTW does anyone know if the AM assured 1 year warranty is transferable?
If your selling private then yes you can transfer the remaining months to the new owner

It will be interesting to see that with the jump in prices whether or not it temps existing owners to sell or whether they will keep them. What I hope does not happen is people seeing them as investments and not driving them!!!!
Think it will be a mix. I for one love driving mine. I don't use it as a daily driver, we have the discovery for that, but use it when the mood takes me.I enjoy a spirited drive at weekends just like everyone else. I just think if I drove it every day it would lose that special feel to me.
What it has done is get me involved in a great number of clubs and events. This alone has enabled me to see some amazing cars and meet some great people.
Last year alone we met Guy Martin Paul Hollywood and James Martin. Plus seeing a Ferrari FXX in the flesh and hearing it roar round a track.
I feel privalidged to own such a rare amazing car and I for one won't be selling it any time soon
