If they are talking about a chemical paint protection rather than a film then I would recommend talking to someone like Paddy328 on here who will do a much better job than the bunch of car washers that the dealers employ.
Gtechnic Serum which can only be installed by approved detailers, like Paddy, is a great product when installed onto paint that has been well corrected to remove any swirls etc.
Good luck with your collection on Saturday, hope you get some decent weather to enjoy your first drive in.

Thanks to both of you above ^^ for the advice.

It's tempting when a dealer tries to sell you protection for the car when you yourself don't know enough about the subject. Will definitely keep my options open...

Don't need them. The bloody great big vents in the bonnet make it stand out.
And trust me their needed. They arnt there just for decoration. Just wait till your stopped at traffic lights and see the amount of heat pushed out .laugh
Heat haze out of vents in bonnet is pretty cool to see. Now who can be the first to capture this on camera as I've not seen any photo of this yet!

Something else I would recommend is a cteck battery conditioner. (Plugs into the socket in the boot)

I know you won't need it to start with as you will be out playing all the time.
But if you go on holiday or leave it for any length of time they are a must

Is that the same as a trickle charger? I know one came with my last Vantage...

Yep. Maintaines the battery at optimum levels.
I left mine off once when I went offshore. 4 weeks later it was as flat as a fart. Managed to charge the battery but it was never the same again and had to get it changed

Congratulations on the purchase!

I would highly recommend getting Paddy to paint correct your car and protect it with GTechniq Crystal Serum.

Amazing stuff, puts an incredible shine on the car and makes it much easier to clean without scratching it.

Thanks! I just heard back from Grange actually. They're offering "lifeshine" application inside and out. Is that some kind of second rate protection??

I've answered my own question by doing some quick internet "research" (Google). It appears to be AutoGlym Lifeshine they're talking about which the general consensus is that it's "applied by garage monkeys".

They want to charge me £382 for it for the inside and out.

The tyre and alloy insurance is £616 for 10 diamond cut refurbs and 5 tyre puncture replacements over 3 years.

What's the verdict guys? The above prices are only if I buy both together...

Avoid kerbs & potholes, and get a quote for professional paint protection. As for the interior, is it going to be used for the school run???
