A welcome return to the fold
Discussion
So after a year and a half spent on the dark side (plastic pig ownership ), Ed50s description not mine , this morning I collected my new toy.
To say I am happy would be the understatement of the century, having had a Vantage V8 and a Vantage V8S both with sportshift it is like hooking up with an old friend although the leap up in power is very noticeable but at the same time it is so mild mannered when taking it easy.
Huge thanks to Simon at Aston Martin Works who has made the whole experience such an enjoyable one.
Apologies to the V12V crew but to get funding past the boss it had to be a sportshift as she is much happier driving one of those than the manual. Any way with that NA V12 up front I don't mind what gearbox is in it.
And yes Ed once I have finished driving today I will register for Burghley, unless you want to do it for me so I don't mess up your form with my appalling computer skills.

Back home at last………….the long lost boy returns in better fettle than ever and what a motor…..
Many congratulations on a stunning return to the fold Kev,Lisa and yourself must be delighted and I'm pleased your experience of WS was such a good one.
Beings you'll be busy popping in an out all day taking yet another peep at the beast I'll sign you on for the B word.
So pleased to have you fully de pigged and I hope my small effort and bit of encouragement along the way to repatriation proves worthwhile.
Nice colour by the way…...

Hi all
Thanks for the compliments, in answer to the questions it is Volcano Red (sorry but quick camera phone shots under artificial lights gave it a bit of a different hue) lightweight buckets which are great except when the man with some of the shortest legs going tries to get out of them LOL.
Pete, have always tried to keep up to date on the AM forum but yes probably a bit more active since deciding to make a return.
Decent interior shots will be forthcoming, perhaps tomorrow when there is a rumour the sun might make an appearance, but black with red stitching. One I took through the window when I first saw the car a few weeks back to keep you going.

Only managed about 80 miles so far and most of that in poor conditions but OMG I love it, smooth and refined when you want and bloody quick when you decide.
Between brand new Corsas and mainly wet roads I haven't dared use more than half throttle yet and it still feels immense.
Ed thanks for adding me to the B word list and for the encouragement to return to the fold after my previous experience.
Hopefully I will get to put a lot more faces to names at Burghley or at another event beforehand.

Welcome back to the fold Kevin.
Your Aston Martin history, must surely qualify you as yet another customer on the Gaydon VIP list.
Your car is certainly a real stunner.
Really like the theatrical unveiling handover ceremony.
Simon has so many mentions on here. I must remember to steer well clear.
Should I presume that 'plastic pig' is a products made by that German SUV maker, who also build a few sports cars?
I had better stop writing that. It will probably also apply to Aston Martin in a few years time.
Enjoy your new car.
Thanks Jon
The plastic pig reference is all Eds work and yes it was indeed a 991 Carrera 4S, great car but in the end to me it was too soul less.
In today's conditions it would have been great at covering ground safely and quickly but I just never felt I was involved in the process.
I have said before I am not knocking the car as it is brilliant at what it was designed for but for me I had miles more enjoyment from going quite a bit slower today in the V12S than I ever managed in the 911.

I just knew I'd get the blame and before I get undue stick I've had plenty of Porsche's myself plus my sister married a German……..The plastic pig reference is all Eds work

Anyway I'm sure you'll get a little faster when we allow you to take the stabilisers off, have fun………..

Anyway coming from 20 plus years of fibreglass canoes I thought I would be OK joking about the plastic pig.
I thought I had progressed from the so called "Training Bra" but stabilisers feels like a backward step LOL.
Last thing I probably had which had anything like a similar torque to weight ratio was my Griff 500 and that was about 12 years ago so I think I just need to recalibrate my brain. Just think how much I will enjoy it once I have my cycling proficiency badge
Thanks again for your assistance with several of the bits that allowed this to become a reality, much appreciated.
