Hello eveyone.
Im trully sorry if this topic might have been opened a million times. But im seeking answers more suitable for my particular situation and i see many of you nice folks in this form helping each other out and make everyone feel welcome smile

I live in LA, USA. Looking for my first DB9. Can not offord a new one. So im looking for a pre-owned one. Trying to stay within $60,000 range. (£41,000).Im also going to finance it so i have to buy from an authorized aston dealer.

1/ based on my budget, Which model year would you reccomend the least in order to stay relevant to modern car technology? I hear 2010 is a safe bit. Im looking for the least year model which already has what most of the new DB ones has to offer as far features .

2/ maximum millages acceptable in a pre-owned DB9 ?

3/ any tips to neogtiate better pricing from an AM dealer ?

4/ any final buying tips, ideas, pointers and things to look for in the car before buying.

I would really really appreciate all the help and answers i can get. Thank you for your time in advance. Ill be sure to reply and thanks to each one of you smile

If you look in the forum stickies for the FAQ stuff, it tells you about Grants book. All your questions are answered in that. It's a good read as an enthusiast, prospective buyer or owner.
Ok, quick and dirty answers.
1. Introduced 2004/5. First major changes in 2007 (interior) and then in 2009 (lots of interior and glass key). Final iterations in 2012.25 and 2015.
Anything after 2007 is great. After 2009 is awesome.
2. Solid cars, mileage only affects value. High miles is not a bad indicator if it's got full service history. However 60/70k miles is the high end and not much owner information on here past that.
Highest I've seen was about 90k.
3. Keep asking for stuff until they are prepared to let you leave without a deal. Then you know you've screwed them down to the hard deck.
4. Take a trusted friend or colleague and get them to hold your wallet. It might help with the call of the siren.
Unless your friends are like mine. And they then just encourage you to buy anything that looks shiny that I might like. smile

aim for something 2009MY (produced from Sept 08) onwards - it has the revised interior including glass key and 20bhp extra

As divetheworld has said, in the UK at least there's not much movement on the sticker price. But lots of opportunity to get things like extended warranties thrown in

Why is that? What's the connection between an financing and an authorized AM dealer?

Thank you dive the world for your extensive help. I appreciate your time.
For the last poster, I need to buy from an auth AM dealer to ensure I get a warranty with it and better car history. I understand other dealers might carry AMs. But AMs here in LA are known to be the place to get the best warrenty .

In my experience AM dealers are not likely to give a warranty on a several years old car, unless you pay for the AM extended warranty, in which case it doesn't really matter from whom you buy. Also, exotic/high end dealers usually have a greater selection of the older models to choose from. Maybe things are different out west...

Thank you for your sharing and I'm so glad there are some US users in this form smile

I have very limited knowledge but I was told only AM auth dealers can offer warrenty with original parts. Maybe I was told the wrong info.

If you have any reccomendations, dealers wise or others, I would love for you to share them along smile

Thank you for your help my friend

Don't you remember the topic called something along the lines of, Should I buy a 120,000 mile DB9, or am I mad?

Most thought the latter, but then it transpired that the previous owner replaced anything and everything that might need attention well in advance and no expense was spared. I think a whole new hood was fitted because a small part was broken, and full sets of new tyres went on, if the existing ones were likely to require changing within a year.

The purchaser was very happy with the car.

Start your search on Cars.com and ebay. All the dealers advertise their cars on those sites.
