Vantage GT8? scratchchin
Indeed, I wondered when someone would say that hehe
That's not based on any intel - just what I would call it. I do love the thought of a 'lightweight' V8V with some racing addenda, the GT12 interior etc.

I guess question is also on transmission... ...SS11, SS111, 6Sp Man or 7Sp Man!! Maybe they'll surprise us and put TT2 in it..!

It appears the reg GT08 AML has been snapped up too...

If such a car was to be built, judging by what happened with GT12, it would probably sell out before the press got a sniff of it!

I bet the equivalent "run out" model will be made available in the UK market; and have the same effect ..

Stock cars are available with huge discounts already anyway.
I sure the N430 took it's toll on the Vantage market in the UK already. A run out model would be nice, yours will probably be announced later in the year, since they are still taking orders in the UK. It was only in the US where Aston decided to pull the plug early on the Vantage till the replacement arrives.

You mean it would sell out before the press emabargo was lifted, not before the press got a sniff :-)

The press take the embargos pretty seriously of course

GT12 demand seemed to genuinely take the factory by surprise. But they are struggling to get their pricing right on the specials. ONE 77 took a long time to finally sell out (and a much longer time still to get to the current position of big premiums). Vulcan seems to have sold well - I'm not sure if it's sold out, but if it hasn't, there can't be more than a tiny handful left

V12 Zagato was ludicrously over priced, struggled to sell and took more than a year longer than planned before they finally closed their book on sales of less than half the initial plan. GT12 was 60% the price of zagato (250k vs 400k) yet must have cost far more to build (they both had unique carbon body work but GT12 had new exhaust, uprated engine, new wheels, new interior panels, etc whereas zagato had a few trim variations inside and a unique carbon body)

Arguably GT12 should have been £50k more or more sensibly, a build run of 150 or 200. You can understand after Zagato and to a lesser extent ONE 77, why they were wary though

So as I say, they have had mixed experience with pricing & sales of specials. Incidentally I don't consider my own ltd ed of 101 roadster to fall into the above category of specials - it's not 'special' enough to do that.

Obviously I can't comment on what GT8 pricing or numbers might be because none of us know anything about this hypothetical car :-) But going back to my first point in answer to your post, if some posters know something, you can be reasonably sure the press know too........

Incidentally any news the factory may have to announce about any V8 models to be launched is patently being held back to give breathing space to Geneva & DB11......one has to assume it will all become clear within just a few weeks, perhaps (a pure guess) to hit the press in the magazines one issue after the issues that are dominated by Geneva

Waking to the news of the Porsche 911 R, an incredibly exciting lightweight manual normally-aspirated £130k offering, I'm left disappointed that due to the way Porsche now do business, even if I wanted to, I can't buy one!

All this leads me back to the N430, which is something I've been toying with for months. Does anyone know if 2016 will see a new iteration of V8 Vantage special edition? There can't be more than 12-18 months of production left surely?

We've had the N400, N420 etc... can we expect a manual-tran N450? Or GT8 of some sort? V8 Vantage GT? V8 Vantage R?
Ciao AOK!
A special analog car to celebrate the Vantage journey would be epic, let's hope AM will hear you! I feel already special in a 4.7, I would imagine in something like what you just described!

Keeping my fingers crossed that it might happen. With a manual transmission ideally!

Talk to a dealer now, and see what they know, rather than wait around....
