Would love to see pictures of some non-winged ones for comparison if anyone has any
I think this point has been mentioned before Rob, but it puzzles me why anyone would want a GT8 without the rear wing.
It forms such a significant part of the homage to the GTE racing car.
Apart from perhaps an unusually bright colour scheme, at a quick glance a wingless GT8 would probably be mistaken for a normal Vantage (obtainable at a considerably lower cost).

Are those the centre locks?
I was told by a UK AM dealer that 40% of GT8's were ordered with the centre locks.Really?
I would have thought more like 10%.

That wouldn't surprise me - remember there were two versions of centrelocks and the more "standard" version was I think a £4k upgrade cost on black lightweight 5 bolts. So I can imagine many (including me) who wanted a more racing-feel to the car specced them. The fully monty magnesium centre locks may be closer to 10% though
Sorry, I meant the magnesium lightweight centre locks. The £18000 Option What I find interesting about GT8, perhaps even more than GT12, is the wide variety of different buyer's approaches, particularly say compared to buyers of a 911 GT3
I am told that it is considered one of the 'sweetest' handling Vantages ever built, possibly the very sweetest. But I also get the impression that it is arguably a better road car than track car. Partly because there are cheaper, 'better', faster cars for that purpose. I don't see that as necessarily being a positive or a negative, but it does make the car different to many track specials
I suspect (but am sure I'll be quickly corrected if wrong) that many GT8 buyers will be at most, very occasional track day users with this car i.e no more than once or twice per year, so predominantly road use. I get why many owners therefore might not want or need centre locks, aero pack, etc
But to justify paying the price for GT8, presumably many buyers have had to take into account rarity and therefore resale/depreciation. Put another way, I can't imagine many people would have bought GT8 at the price it was sold at if it was a regular production model. So if you are taking into account resale when specifying the car, I can see why one might think about adding some of these extras even if they aren't wanted that much by the initial buyer, because surely a car so closely linked to GTE is going to sell better with racecar like extras (aero, bright colour scheme, centre locks, etc).
Just my twopenneth of course - would be interested in the thoughts of actual GT8 owners

Just touched the extended front splitter on a speed bump for the first time, fortunately no damage to anything due to being exceptionally slow and having PPF curved around the front edge; but going forward I think I have to remove them because otherwise this is going to happen far too frequently.
I don't think it's quite as low as my Cayman GT4 was, but the 'problem' is that the first thing you touch is some very solid carbon fibre, it's not a cheap disposable part.

Good call Tim, not sure you'll need them in any road scenario I can think of. Save them for the track & save yourself a fortune & pain!I don't think it's quite as low as my Cayman GT4 was, but the 'problem' is that the first thing you touch is some very solid carbon fibre, it's not a cheap disposable part.
I think that's pretty much spot-on Jonby, albeit with two nuances:
1. I have no plans to sell, so in large part it's a question of what toys I want it to come with
2. I've also employed a strategy of not specifying things that I know I can change easily afterwards. So for example I've not gone for a coloured carbon fibre grille
I want to take it on track but it will be occasional rather than every other week. I think the issue some magazines have with it as s trackday car is that the 4.7v8 isn't powerful enough to do it justice, so one thing I'll be interested in is whether BR or similar can breathe more life into it
I really don't understand buying it without the aero pack, surely better off buying a v12sm instead? Those will be incredibly rare, but would still be interested to see any pics of them

Jonby / Rob , pretty much agree with you both.
I've gone aero , very bright colour , titanium exhaust but only black 5 studs.
I have centre locks on my GT3 and for a road car they are potentially a right pita.
Decibel levels on the 8 may be an issue on some tracks and anyway a GT3 or RS version will be quicker round anyway in the real world I guess.
I intend my 8 to be a road racer / Sunday blast car and bought it because it simply appealed.
I wouldn't want to drive it daily but I'm lucky enough to have the V12S for those duties.

Jonby , driving a peridot painted GT8 daily would attract far too much attention.
A China grey V12 with quicksilver secondary decats is nearly invisible by comparison !
I find the ss3 very easy in traffic and much better than the manual SP10 I had before.
Comfort - again the V12 in normal setting and normal driving better than the SP.
I want the GT8 to feel special in the same way as my GT3 does - I'll let u know if ( when ) it does.
I love the V12 but of the 3 it's the only one that is only slightly ridiculous as a dd.
