It is clearly advertised at way over list price.
It's at a main dealer, as specified in the contract.

No i have been told dealers have been told that they are not allowed to resell them so early on. Can you please post a copy of this contract. Thanks

I'm just referencing what RobDown wrote in the post above yours.

I have to confess I haven't looked for it, but I'm told (by my dealer obviously!) that there is a clause that says if you resell within 12 months it has to be through a main dealer

I can't believe that the op half jokingly saying on ph he's going to flip through an independent would be the root cause of Andy Palmer saying they won't sell him the car. So I suspect there is a lot more to this than we've been told so far.

Just keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out amicably in the end
Hi Rob, can you please post this contract. Thanks

I was told by JTC that the car is owned by them and the owner sold it to them as he wanted to make a quick profit!
Who wrote this????

Additional protective tape, Black Day Light opening (DLO) surround, Black headlamp bezels, Clear rear lamp, Decklid Model Name Badges, Dipped beam Xenon headlights, Electric folding mirrors, Electric front windows,

Gloss black carbon fibre front bumper, Gloss black carbon fibre rear bumper and diffuser,

Platinum bonnet and side strake meshes, Android Auto, Front head restraints, Front seat memory, Glass ECU,

WTF??

Yep, that would have looked cracking. You have good taste, but bad luck!

The thing I find so puzzling about this is that the original Satin paint finish colour ordered and the colour it was actually painted are not your usual paint colours or finish.
I believe the GT8 was eventually painted in Satin Titanium, my own V8VR is Titanium Silver and they stopped using this paint colour a good few years ago.

The other thing I find strange about this is the AM dealers now selling these cars so soon after delivery at a hugely inflated price.
What is to stop an AM sales guy at a dealership getting someone to order a limited edition car like this and soon after delivery sell it back to the dealer for a chunky profit, which is then split between AM salesman and original buyer?

Hi Rob, can you please post this contract. Thanks
I've just been looking through all my correspondence with AML and can't actually find what I would consider to be a contract, just confirmation of deposit, confirmed order spec sheet etc, but that's about it. I'm not sure whether anyone who has had their car delivered can confirm whether this clause actually exists in the paperwork they received with it?

It was mentioned to me by my dealer a month or so back as we were discussing how poor it was to see so many cars being flipped straightaway, and all through independents until that AM Leeds car came up recently. (As an aside I still think its poor, but AML have tightened up their practices here since the GT8, so hopefully more cars in future will go to people who want to keep them)

Anyway still hope this can be resolved amicably, would be a shame for you not to get the car that you wanted (and it looked gorgeous even in the wrong paint colour!)

I definitely had a clause on my order form about not buying it for the purposes of resale.

They would have a bit of a challenge to prove that.

xymph - apologies but I think you've missed out on part of the saga (and indeed I'm not sure we know all there is to know in the story full stop).

So as I understand it

1. Aml make a mistake with the paint colour
2. Aml and buyer come to agreement that he will take the car anyway albeit with some form of compensation/rectification
3. Something then happens that means AmL are now refusing to sell the car to buyer at all

We're missing some gaps as to why it's got to that point, but the speculation is that it may, in part, be based on the OP posting on these forums about flipping the car (albeit looked in jest to me). So what we're discussing here is WHY Aston Martin are refusing to sell him the car in the first place. It's no longer about wrong paint colours, whether he should sell it etc. he doesn't have a car to sell

As I said it feels like we're not in full possession of all the parts of the story, but given its clearly becoming a legal matter perhaps we had better just leave it there and keep our fingers crossed that there is an amicable solution

+1

To add - either I had a few too many and was seeing things, or a post made last night appears to have gone missing overnight. That's never a good sign.

Seems an ugly situation. Best to keep out of it.

This is a hugely difficult situation for both parties. AML cannot comment on a public forum about what has/has not happened and therefore we only see the aggrieved party's side of events. What is impossible to know is how accurate the information is we are seeing and if any facts have been left out or alternate facts added.

I know it is not a situation I would like to be in at all. Let's hope a compromise is agreed.

To my eyes that's the best colour scheme yet on the GT8.

Cool, I added that to the registry, anyone knows the ltd edition number of that one? (Also, is it Diavolo Red as Adam suggested?)
