Enjoy the day - the wait now seems to have taken forever.
Boring I know but curious what values Insurers will have to assume in their premium ?
I'd start at Invoice plus 50% smile

Autocar's take on their Best Drivers Car 2016: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHFZp5F3uRc
Hmmmm.... I didnt enjoy that review at all.

Maybe my thinking has been wrong on the GT8.

I honestly thought it was going to be a sensational track car in spite of its weight and that review managed to make it look like just an OK track car.

It looks like it needs more power.

Why do you think carbon fibre bodywork is expensive?
Because google said so biggrin

Automotive manufacturing costs can be cut by 80% with carbon fiber-based autos vs. steel-based ones due to greatly reduced tooling and simpler assembly and joining. However, such cost savings are currently overshadowed with carbon fiber material prices upwards of $10/lb.

If carbon fiber costs can be driven down to $5/lb (for large-tow, standard-modulus, automotive-grade creel fiber), a carbon-fiber-based auto would become cost-competitive with a steel-based auto. RMI's analysis of composites aligns with studies by MIT and ORNL showing that manufacturing fixed costs can be reduced by 80% from a steel-automotive baseline with composite manufacturing methods. This translates to a 35% overall savings since costs are spread over 250,000 units of annual production. Unfortunately, the same analyses show that all cost reductions associated with body-in-white and/or composite manufacturing techniques are currently overshadowed by higher material cost. For carbon-fiber-based autos to compete with steel ones at the same production volume, carbon fiber costs would need to decrease from their current $10+ per pound price by about 60%—yet ORNL thinks this is plausible.

I went Manual too for reasons shared by others plus I liked more the design without the controls on the sides.
When at Gaydon I asked about losing the ugly seat controls with the manual seat option and was told you still get them, they just don't work.

I even asked if Q could produce something to cover them up.

As you appear to indicate, perhaps even in the premium market, it is still the cheapest preparation, just to make the car look good enough to sell.
Hence not one main dealer or specialist retailer has the 2 bucket wash and sheepskin mitts as standard. This in itself is outrageous and why I have to put an A4 piece of paper with DO NOT WASH on the dash top and passenger seat and even then that's been ignored and my detail ruined in one wash.

Are those the centre locks?
I was told by a UK AM dealer that 40% of GT8's were ordered with the centre locks.

Really?

I would have thought more like 10%.

That wouldn't surprise me - remember there were two versions of centrelocks and the more "standard" version was I think a £4k upgrade cost on black lightweight 5 bolts. So I can imagine many (including me) who wanted a more racing-feel to the car specced them. The fully monty magnesium centre locks may be closer to 10% though
Sorry, I meant the magnesium lightweight centre locks. The £18000 Option smile

Ive just joined as an "Enthusiast" not owner but will be bringing a pals GT8 to any meets.
He has no interest in anything like this but I will be demanding the keys and bring it along. His is one of the very last to be produced so March/April delivery.
It is also the most outrageous Q creation of all the 150 cars so I'm sure you guys will enjoy seeing it.

If AM are so against flipping how is this possible

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/a...

It is clearly advertised at way over list price.

I was told by JTC that the car is owned by them and the owner sold it to them as he wanted to make a quick profit!
Who wrote this????

Additional protective tape, Black Day Light opening (DLO) surround, Black headlamp bezels, Clear rear lamp, Decklid Model Name Badges, Dipped beam Xenon headlights, Electric folding mirrors, Electric front windows,

Gloss black carbon fibre front bumper, Gloss black carbon fibre rear bumper and diffuser,

Platinum bonnet and side strake meshes, Android Auto, Front head restraints, Front seat memory, Glass ECU,

WTF??
