I went for the Premium Audio in the end (partly on advice of the dealer). The basic audio is rubbish by all accounts, albeit I've not heard it myself. Indeed I haven't listened to the hi-fi in any of my Aston Martins, and can't really imagine doing so in a GT8.

But equally if I were to ever try to sell the car AND if its being bought by someone who wants to use it far more regularly than the weekend use it will get from me, I wouldn't want the stereo to be a major issue.

CF wing mirrors, you won't miss them if you don't have them. But you'll like them if you do. So your call smile

Thank you, spent countless hours considering all shades of green and blue and various accent but finally made it last Friday!

I am still undecided on two minor stuff:

CF mirrors? (will look good as they will add some carbon on the top of the car, alongside the rear Wing...but also in AMR green the car will look very balanced)
700w stereo? (don't wont it, but apparently many have opted for it)

What do you think guys?
I would definitely get the 700w stereo, I didn't order my car and it came without it. It's not the end of the world, but it still baffles me that any car today comes equipped with a 160w stereo, let alone and Aston Martin. But for some reason it seems to be an option most dealers don't order and it's the one option most difficult or possible to upgrade later. The standard audio does not sound bad until you get into almost any other new car or even 10 year old car out there and you realize how badly it sucks!

FFM , did u go tailgate infill and rear light in carbon ?
Can u overdose on carbon ?!
I said yes to 700 w as like the sound irrespective of whether I will use much.
Did u say yes to ti exhaust ?
Yes I went for the Titanium Exhaust, Aero, Tailgate/lamp infills, Alcantara seat inners.

Tailgates/lamp infills are actually a nice feature and decided to opt for them, this adds carbon in a "CF-focused" area, where you see other CF components (diffuser and bumper), thus it made sense (to protect the back I did choose the rear camera too!)
Where I don't see the need of CF is on the roof, unless you want to play colors. I won't go for the CF front grill neither, I like it naked as intended.

All you guys, together with Works suggested the 700w audio for almost the same reasons and I see more value now that before. I may go for it. Thank you for your inputs!

Great colour schemes FFM and TFB must say I have seen 10 colour schemes now and all have their own unique styles and combinations and all look fantastic. It just adds for me what a great car this is roll on watching it being made and then delivery woohoo
Add to this only 40 sold in the UK it will have rarity factors as well.
On a separate note I have just switched insurance companies for my Vantage V12S Roadster and gone with Locktons. Price cheaper than my renewal and got track insurance and enhanced EU cover thrown in. Also able to add the GT8 to the same policy with an agreed replacement value which is important to me. If anyone wants the guys number I spoke to PM me and happy to share details.

For those of you still wanting to see the Low Line centre console - I suggest you watch this video below of the new Manual V12 Vantage S. There are 3 or 4 instances where the camera jumps to a rear cockpit view and you get a good clear shot of the new console.

Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Manual: The Perfect Aston? - Carfection

(Approx - 5:00, 5:40 and 6:40 in if you want to skip direct to the console shots)

Cheers! We are obviously extremely excited as well!!!

On another note, even though this is well in advance and just as a thought I was thinking of trying to get as many GT8 owners together as possible, through Instagram I already know 4 people who would be willing to meet up for some photos and a drive with the cars following collection, just wondering if anyone else would be interested? (p.s. the people i have spoken to including us are located in SE England i think)

As mentioned before it would be great to get as many people together as possible as I'm sure there will be a variety of great spec's on show if the forum is anything to go by!

Another thought is that, if we managed to get enough of us taking part, we could try and speak to places like Goodwood etc. to try and arrange something special

Sorry Adam, I forgot to take pics at the low-line console when I was at Gaydon. I managed to sit in the V12SManual car (the same now doing the press' test-drives) and must say the console fits really well in the interior contest. Also I sense you would feel less "constrained" shifting, as it clearly there is way more space available for the elbow. I asked them if I could test drive it but being the week ahead of these press' round, it was simply too risky and they said no, for now.

Btw, if I recall correctly there are also usb and power socket inside

Rob , I wouldnt be too sure about that although I am making progress and would also be up for that too.
Adam , thanks for that video - I had already specced the low console and am getting that covered in alcantara.

I had considered this too, but decided I would constantly be worrying about wear, especially with a manual transmission and such a high transmission tunnel.

On that note, has anyone NOT specified alcantara seat centres? I've submitted my spec with them ticked, but now undecided!

Mrs K , I think the seats just look and feel so much better with the alcantara inners - I have them on my V12S and am very happy with them.

When I was looking at GT's I really wanted the Alcantara seat centers. But when I compared to Leather, to me there was no comparison, the Leather looked so much more upscale. That said I hear Alcantara wears like iron, maybe even better that leather, so I would not worry about wear. Aston uses a very high quality Alcantara, not some cheap faux suede like others.

Hi TFB

Count me in on the meet up sounds like a great idea.
Who knows with enough interest a track day may be in order!
Once we are nearer delivery date let's chat further as I know a few buyers of GT8's near to me that are not on PH or AMOC that would be up for it as well.
I have just had some pictures taken of a Vantage V12S coupe I have had for 2 months by a local photographer I know and they look great. He will be taking some shots of my V12S roadster in the next few weeks so once done I will post them all and see what we think. I am sure he will be interested to help record the event.

Regards

Graham

Hi Graham,

Yes it would be great to get as many owners together as possible, I'm going to be ambitious and aim for the 30 mark as a minimum! The idea of a professional photographer is a good one as well. I may speak to our AM dealer about what could be arranged in terms of a proper event.

Regards,
Tristram
