Great looking spec for me the titanium exhaust is a must and good to see someone going for the centre lock wheels. I didn't but it is nagging me now! The carbon fibre roof did not enter my thinking. Just got my Tungsten Silver Vantage V12S Roadster back from a holiday with AM. Seeing the carbon fibre against that I can see why the choice would be made. A budget is a budget though and had to scale back to avoid selling the roadster.

Yes it is a JP'spec. I think they have noise restriction there as when they started it up it didn't sound as ferocious as the stirling green one we are all familiar with.

I am told that Ti exhaust will definitely be louder then the ss version and I wasnt prepared to risk it !
I guess budget v daily driver ( or not ) are all considerations and also depends on the car colour.
Personally on your spec I would be saying yes to the roof and exhaust but no to a couple of other things such as the carbon badges and electric seat adjustment but easy for anyone else to ignore your specific use / budget.

what colour did you go for Rkwm1? I'm keen to avoid duplicating anyone else's spec (i'm sure we all want to be as unique as possible!)

Im keen on having the exhaust but i'm told it is only beneficial for the weight saving. No real notable sound difference and although i like the black tail pipes i think they don't stand out enough. Especially when you see the photo of the one posted earlier.

From the initial pictures i was not too keen on the CF badge but on seeing it on the car i loved it. Electric seats for me are a must. I wont let many people drive it, but those who do will have a different seating position which they find most comfortable. Also I personally change the position of the seats depending on the journey so having them fixed doesn't work for me.
I am very tempted by the exhaust. Lets see what happens!

My current favourite is frosted glass blue with orange accents. But aml are still consulting as to whether this causes trouble with gulf - even though I have a letter from gulf saying it's fine.

If I can't go down that route in half thinking of a dark blue (midnight maybe) possibly with yellow or flugplatz accents

Spending far too much of my day visualising paint schemes.....

Sorry to dampen spirits about the value of the car but just had a look and Aston Martin Cambridge have already knocked 70k off the price of the GT12 they have for sale to £425k so hopefully not a bad omen for the GT8... Another GT12 has popped up for sale as well, it is LHD at Dick Lovett and is around the £395k mark

I'm not at all surprised £500k was very cheeky - particularly with the gt8 coming

I think the question you have to ask yourself is this - how low would the gt12 have to come price-wise before you cancelled your gt8 order and bought one instead? Yes it's a v12 with more power. But on the downside it's not got a manual gearbox (which is a major turn-off for me) and that v12 puts a lot of extra weight over the front end - the gt8 should handle better

One thing is certain nobody was rushing to switch from the gt8 with a £300k premium (when the car was on at £500k) and I would be amazed if anyone cancelled to buy it at 425k. If it gets below £300k I might be tempted depending on colour and specsmile

I can't see the GT12 dropping below £300k, but who knows I may live to eat my words!

With regards to the GT8, I think and hope that it will be a very exciting car to drive as it should (like a GT4) have a manageable amount of power and good weight distribution meaning it will hopefully be a very fun car to drive. Let's wait and see what the journos have to say about it (does anyone know when that might be?)

Dan Trent's comments on the v12vs manual suggest he's also driven something else from Aston Martin (but presumably embargoed on). Guessing that wasn't the Zagato, so might be the GT8

It looks more glossy/metallic than China grey. Very different from the China Grey Manual V12S. Maybe Hammerhead?

Within two weeks time, I was told last week. The red car will be the one tested and, as the picture suggests, it's built and ready!

I'm almost 100% sure that is not China Grey. China Grey is a flat colour and this picture is of a metallic paint - Possibly Tungsten, Scintilla or Meteorite Silver.
