Is it just the camera angle or are these Vulc's being driven incredibly slowly through Eau Rouge? Sad...

Rather than the EVO car of the year it looks like that spot of the GT8 /911R /etc was for the Autocar car of the year (they are tweeting about it today)

Of course it might be in ECOTY16 too smile

I went to AMHQ yesterday to see a friends GT8 on the production line. Unfortunately he received a call a couple of hours before we arrived to tell us that the car was been painted so we couldn't see it! We decided to go anyway.
It was the first time that i have been on a factory tour of AM and it was interesting to see. Got to see quite a few DB11's coming of the line in different colours. Really good looking car, cant wait to drive one. Saw a few Vanquish Zagato's, absolutely stunning car. Part of me wished i ordered one of those instead of the GT8. Not sure if it will be as much fun to drive as a GT8 but looks beautiful. Then after walking around most of the line, finally in distance was a GT8. Finished in the launch colour it looked very nice, but as we walked on and got to the detailing bay i heard a familiar rumble and in the corner sat one finished in Dark Night Blue. I cant describe how good it looked! The owner is one lucky person. In total saw 5 in almost completed ones so hopefully get to see some on the road soon or at least on some car spotting sites. Another 5 weeks to wait until i get to see my been built. Its like waiting for Christmas when you a kid! Unfortunately wasnt allowed to take pictures of the GT8's as they were in the factory. Heres one of the Zagato in reception.

Today I ventured to Gaydon for a drive in the red, manual GT8 press car... absolutely everything I hoped it would be! To be honest, I was grinning like a cheshire cat through the entire drive - nothing very informative to add other than it's a delight.

Driving with the lowline centre console is definitely beneficial versus experience of my Dad's V12 Vantage, I had expected the ride to feel a little more rough on UK roads than it did and nowhere in my short trek did I run into troubles with the front splitter. The exhaust is still savage!

I had a walk down the line and saw three cars in build, one in halo scheme, one in the same Stirling Green and lime as the halo pack but only on the normal "3 areas" for the accent pack, and finally a darker green with no accent. Mine hits the line in around 4 weeks, I believe it's about 1/3rd of the way through the total run. Latest estimate is something like 90-95% manual - so that sounds like 8-15 cars in total have the Sportshift...

Look forward to seeing it! I have just upgraded from a 4.7 sport shift to the 4.7 S.....love it and the noise wow!

Only 10% sportshift makes much more sense; I know the SS will be faster than manually swapping cogs but surely the point of the car is less about outright speed and more about driving pleasure?

Sounds great Tim - when are you going to post another video on the GT8 in your channel?

...and when are you telling us what colour you have gone for? smile

Completely, if you want to spend this much money and buy a car to go fast you'd get a used 650S, the GT8 is about driver enjoyment, engagement with the experience and the emotive experience that comes from how special it is.

It is a shame TopGear's CH defined the car as a "collectors item" in its latest edition (Speed Week) without commenting anything interesting about the driving. To be honest I would have expected someone as Chris Harris to approach the GT8 in a quite differentl way. Also after you see his take on the GT12, it seemed quite incoherent when describing the GT8 (how come you can define the Gt12 noise one of the best ever and dislike the Gt8's).

Basically I wasted £5 buying the mag.

Thanks God there is a stunning picture of the GT8 cornering like a Kart (3-wheel contact) on Vantage magazine. Truly epic

Tim,
Love the blue. Who will be brave enough to do an orange one with blue accents.

Smee, Why did you decide against the halo centre flash?

I think it would balance the car perfectly.

Looks a little bottom heavy to my eye without it.

Looks great Tim
Seeing so many different variations from all that have ordered cant wait to be part of a few pictures when we all take delivery.
I am at AM on Friday as mine is mid build and I am told I will take delivery mid to end of November of number 8/150
hoping GT08 AML is still around for a spin. I nearly did at Goodwood but some bloke called Shmee150 was sitting with Marek!
Chat soon biggrin:
