Anybody ordered one in the Aston racing green shades?
I did, out of 2 in AM Racing Green. Although I don't have a render, it will almost like that:
http://www.bramley.com/carsales/details/Aston-Mart...

only difference being no wheel centre-lock mechanism and yellow stichning inside as opposed to grey
I'm the other AM Racing green guy, FFM and I appear to have near identical specced cars. Mine went onto the line on Tuesday although i'm told no cars will leave the factory before 30th October due to homologation approval / testing? Either way our cars should be ready just in time for winter.........

FFM & Will77, great choice - that combo hits a sweet spot for me. Looking forward to seeing your pictures in a few months.

While you wait, Autocar has a great road test on the GT8 this week. Enjoy the read.

EFA for you (I gave you the benefit of the doubt of having an "humble" opinion).

Now, to business

1. This is a car designed to ape the GT4 race car. It would be stupid if it was indistinguishable from the "standard" vantage, pretty though that is
2. I love it. That's why I'm buying one. You don't, that's why you're not. Life would be dull if we all liked the same things. But it would be as tedious to trawl around forums looking to criticise other people's taste. Life's too short

You are so right. I am the biggest fan of the original "unadulterated" Vantage design but I also love my V8VS and the GT8 is outrageous but just epic. Look back at the last page and all the renderings of several very lucky forum members' cars. They look fantastic and I'm sure will look even better in the flesh. If you're no longer in love with Astons why come here and spread your negativity. As Rob says, life is far too short for that kind of ste.

3 words in 36 pages? Hardly spreading is it. You two seem a bit touchy, maybe climb down from your lofty steeds and relax a bit, 'life's too short' remember smile

It's certainly a catchy monicker...biggrin "Grumpy" I'll accept. "Bitter"? Nah, why would I be?

I hang around here from time to time as despite no longer owning an Aston, the 8.5yrs and 55k miles I did in the one I bought from new might have resulted in some experience that some might find useful at some point wink

(It's still ugly, and I still maintain that if after market "stylists" had done the GT8 it would be roundly derided. Racers belong on track and are highly compromised on the road as well as looking a bit "Barry". It's great that Aston are pushing the boat out...I'd rather they focussed on stripping much more weight out of their porky products though...just to keep on being a grump smile).

I had originally mistakenly thought, that the GT8 was a homage to the GTE race car, in the same way that the GT12 is linked to the GT3 race car.

Now you refer to GT4, Rob, have any GT8 buyers therefore chosen to have the most popular GT4 wheels?

Sorry Jon meant the GTE smile

But on topic I noticed the GT8 had another run out at the Nurburgring last week, this time it managed to finish (and on the podium too!)

Such a beautiful car, such a great sounding car. Wonder if the Titanium exhaust will be available for non GT8's? Love to add it to my GT some day.

People really need to stop apologizing for the low tech Vantage, it is what it is, a masterpiece probably never to be duplicated. Look at artists who have only one great album and never have another. I shopped Audi and the F-type, but always loved the Vantage for years and was finally able to buy one new, so there never was a choice. I would never trade for faster zero to 60, or higher tech, never. It's like comparing the Mona Lisa to I don't know what, some high tech souless computer painting. The Vantage has something intangible that you can't quantify. Like Shmee says in this video, if you don't get it you never will!

I do like that.

You have joined Mr. Victor Gauntlett, on my own list of Aston Martin related, quotes and compliments.

Thank you.

100 percent agree, I really don't understand the "oh it's an old design" argument. If the Vantage had never been launched and Aston Martin suddenly launched it now, journalists would be falling over themselves to say how wonderful it is

Yes the Satnav isn't state-of-the-art but if that's important to you then perhaps you shouldn't be buying a sports car. And I know the engine could be more efficient but it compensates with character

When it's finally gone, I think it will be missed
