Well big day tomorrow I pick up my GT8 in the morning :
Must say I am worried though about fuse 15?
When do I pull it?
What if it is not loud enough?
Sorry neighbours lol
Insurance wise gone with Locktons with AMOC discount and very reasonable if anyone wants my contact PM me.

Based on the limited evidence of one car for sale (and a pretty low spec one at that), if you write-off your car on collection you're going to need to spend £300k to replace it. So on an agreed value basis that looks like the place to be
Of course that is just based on the one car for sale, but looking at the price of GT12s it feels like a reasonable starting point

Hmmmm.... I didnt enjoy that review at all.Maybe my thinking has been wrong on the GT8.
I honestly thought it was going to be a sensational track car in spite of its weight and that review managed to make it look like just an OK track car.
It looks like it needs more power.

It's a homage, enough CF & titanium to feel like a special racer for the road.

Having said, I'm sure I'm not the only one quietly wondering whether Bamford Rose will be able to coax some extra horses out of it. I suspect at 470-480bhp it would be nigh on perfect

I was thinking the same thing, though if it produces 440 BHP with the titanium exhaust & BR can extract 470 BHP with their SS system, it seems a pretty appalling waste of money only providing more (Albeit fantastic) noise & bragging rights in the pub!Yes, more noise sounds unnecessary
My plan was to see how it feels with 440bhp for 6-12 months (conscious that in a straight line my 552bhp Rapide will be faster). And then work from there.
Having said all that, I took the Rapide to the Isle of Wight two weeks ago. I think I managed to properly put my foot down for all of about 30 seconds in two days. Just reminded me that having the ability to do 200mph and 0-60 in 4 seconds is really more for pub-talk than any reflection on real world driving

Exactly right Rob.
When I bought my 4·7 with 'only' 420 bhp, I soon realised the same thing.
I might be able to enjoy full throttle for perhaps 10 seconds (you know what the speed is then).
If I bought a V12, those full throttle enjoyment periods would actually become shorter, although with a bigger push in the back.
Do you hope to see your car being built, Rob. I always like to see assembly line photographs (rare).

I think we all forget that it's wonderful to have all that power, but in reality it's not possible to exploit even a small percentage of it without risking a lengthy ban or worse. Personally I enjoy the sense of occasion AM provides (the smell of the leather, the noise of the engine, even at tick over etc etc etc). Sheer power is 'almost' an irrelevance.
Totally lost for words the colour and then the noise has blown me away
The noise on start up and then idle is amazing
Been out all day on different roads and the drive is just so involved and engaging with a manual I now just get it :
A few recent posts on power that has not been a factor today for me.
