What a great day! Had a fantastic time on the factory tour today, saw some lovely cars! Have you found your rear wing yet Tim!!! His was missing!
Lovely to meet you, as soon as I saw your current car in the car park I remembered seeing pictures of it before.I'll be back in the morning to hunt the wing down! Hopefully it ends the day affixed to a bootlid.

Perhaps Tims GT8 has the same invisible rear wing as this GT12?I'll be back in the morning to hunt the wing down! Hopefully it ends the day affixed to a bootlid.

Well done, it looks great on there, I trust mine is still fitted!! They are talking about them coming off the line at the end of this week, maybe having them the week after, in time for Christmas! I know what I will be doing on Christmas day when the roads are quiet!!Can somebody enlighten me please. What is the price difference between a GT8 and a GT12. (Is it the same as between a V8 and a V12 or is the difference exponential ?. Im asking because there seems to be quite a handful of GT12s for sale but can't quite establish whether they still (should) command a premium or whether it is wishful thinking. ?
I think the list on a GT12 was about £250k, but once options are added I think they were really more like £300k. So there's a decent premium being asked for the ones on sale
GT8 list was £165k, but specced more likely to be £200k-£230k depending on how aggressive you got on options (the aero pack and titanium exhaust I'd argue are £17k together and I would guess virtually car has them)

If I remember correctly there is approx a 50% premium on V12 vs V8s..obviously the absolute values are lower than GT8 and 12 so I would not apply the same 50% on top of a GT8 to assess GT12 values. What I know based on conversations I had with dealers/owners re. GT12 is that, for sure, there has been at least 1 transaction at premium over list (including options) quite recently.
In my opinion, the reasons why GT12 are not moving as fast as you would expect in this market are due several factors (not listed in order of importance):
1) seasonality
2) several color combos of the GT12 for sale right now are very unique and personalised (may reduce potential buyers?)
3) asking px around £430k makes GT12 competing directly with other special cars from other top brands (LTs/SVs, etc)
4) their owners are not really desperate to sell (and anyway, I reckon they are not so stupid to sell such a very limited and special car at list/below list..they have surely the financial capabilities to maintain it in SOR at a premium asking price. Also, there is likely a lack of interesting alternatives where to invest the post-potential sale proceeds
5) the GT8, which from multiple feedbacks received, is a more "usable" car on the road (for a number of reasons such as power, manual gearbox, etc), sits at a lower price-point whilst keeps GT12's sought-after rarity and specialness
Enjoying seeing you guys having fun at the factory! keep on posting pics please!! ..need to kill time as it is still a long wait for me

New GT8 ended up about £200-£220k, and the GT12 was about £270-280k. Used, those figures increase to advertised prices of £300k for the GT8 and £430k for the GT12 - who knows if they are selling at that thought.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
