The GT8! Carbon fibre bodied £200K 440BHP 7 Speed V8.
Discussion
The GT8 at Octane sold (advertised at £300k, low spec car). And Prindiville seem to have sold a second higher spec car (advertised at £379k I believe but imagine it went for less)
Not.sure how many GT12s have sold. But as FFM said above if I were in the market for one I might wait and see where GT8s trade first because paying a £100k premium for one over a GT8 would be madness (just my opinion)

My car is off the line, now the long wait begins!
Aston Martin have been tremendously awesome in terms of the access they have provided for me to make video content with my car in build, I cannot wait to share the pieces starting next week behind the scenes along the line and through the end.
The way these cars are built, the passion from the technicians and engineers for the brand, and the atmosphere wherever you go at Gaydon is brilliant; we are a lucky group!

Jez, do you have any more pics of your car? What black have you gone for?

Actually looking at the Prindiville website it appears hey didn't sell it, rather they put it in their showroom at £345k
Something tells me it's not a coincidence that the colour scheme precisely matches their logo / colour scheme. Possibly ordered by Alex himself.Meanwhile another Stirling Green car has popped up for sale, at Redline this time. Will be interesting to see if it sells as quickly as the Octane car did, seeing as its not a manual.

There seem to be several cars now.
Straight off the production line, and immediately put on sale to make money.
Does anyone know whether AML have any strong feelings about this pattern?
I'm told by my dealer that AML are taking notice of this and people will be struck off lists for future ''specials'. I don't know how true that is, but when I made a gentle enquiry about Zagatos I did have to offer up a list of cars I owned/had owned (whereas the GT8 was entirely first come first served)

And I should add, for sake of balance, that some of the sellers may be forced by current circumstances to sell (vs when they put deposits down). So they may not have all been day 1 speculators (I know, I know they almost certainly all were!)
I hear what you're saying, and you've made this point before...However, isn't it insulting to Aston Martin that all of these delivery miles cars which are popping up for sale are through places like Prindiville, Redline and Octane? And I'm sure within 3 months Romans, Hartley, Knowl Hill etc will also end up with some? No sign of any actually returning to the AM dealers, whether through SOR or otherwise.
That is dissapointing. Yes, they'll take more commission then the cowboy outfits, but surely they deserve to. If it weren't for them, they wouldn't even have the car to profit on in the first place.
As I've said before, these have been bought by people who don't give a toss. They don't care if they are struck off the list for future cars because they're opportunists out to make as much as they can. No respect any more these days, just greed.
I'd be interested to read the Terms and Conditions on the order forms. Many manufacturers put a clause in saying that if the car is re-sold in the first 6 months of ownership at profit, the manufacturer has a right to X% of the yield. Rightly so I say.

I definitely signed something for mine saying I wasn't buying it just to resell, but I don't think that's legally binding anyway (not that I have any intention of selling it).
Hello TimHave they given you any idea when yours will be ready? ( As yours is slightly behind mine on the line) I am having mine detailed by Topaz & The front & sills filmed & a glasscoat put on it, is this the best thing to do in your opinion?

Mine is also going to Topaz for a front-end PPF kit, I think I'd do full body if I anticipated doing big mileage in it but I expect only 2-3k a year.Have they given you any idea when yours will be ready? I'm expecting it to come through a few days before Xmas, cue the big decision as to a 2016 or 2017 registration. They are both together at the moment going through testing and refinement so will come at very similar times.

I saw one today in black with no aero kit, no accents, no carbon, and the standard wheels; very 'plain' Vantage.
Each to his own etc, but if they weren't going to specify aero, accents, carbon etc wouldn't they have been better off just buying a plain vanilla V8S and saving a load of cash?RobDown said:

Agree completely, that spec sounds like my last N430 which was the stealth scheme. That's jet black with sky fall silver cant rails and a healthy amount of carbon bits. Also you get two N430's for the cost of one GT8. PS forgot I was 10 BHP short, that's only £10000 per 1BHP

Sounds nice and understated to me as an Aston should , I thought the gt8 was about the performance .... do the accent colours make it go faster its definitely not about performance. As Tim says, if you want performance then buy a McLaren (or a Nissan GT-R)
I always liked the old Rolls Royce comment - when asked about the power or performance of their cars they would describe it as "adequate". The same applies to me with Aston Martin's (perhaps this side of a One-77 or Vulcan).
So I love Aston Martin's for the sense of occasion, for the theatre (amongst other things). The ridiculous wing, the ridiculous noise, the widened body (and yes the ridiculous colour accents) on the GT8 all add to that sense of theatre. This is definitely not a car for "stealth".
Can't wait
