I've had a bit of a search around but can't find the information that I'm after. Firstly does anyone know how loud the R is with exhaust on normal and in loud mode?

Secondly has anyone taken their R to the Nurburgring? If so what settings worked best? I suspect that the answer is softest suspension with everything else on maximum attack but would appreciate any input.

Thanks.

I tested an S Coupé, not the same exhaust noise I know, but it managed to annoy within 2 miles. Not an everyday long distance driver IMO.

Agree, it is a revvy thing in V6S, not a GT, need the V8 for that...I think

Thanks for the replies.

Sorry I should have been clearer. I'm after details of actual dB levels.

I have a Type R and wondered how the standard exhaust fares on track days?

I guess I should have posted the other question in the Track Days section?

I have a F-TYPE R

It's 102dB on the static test with valves shut ... so no issues for most noisy track days.

I have also taken it on the Nurburgring and actually its better in the Dynamic suspension as without it it still have too much body pitch and roll.

It's an epic machine on track.

As for the exhaust noise on a long journey, when the zorst is turned off, you simply cannot hear it when your cruising at 90 on the autoroutes/bhans ...anyone that says its too loud for a DD clearly has never used one

Perfect, thanks for that. I'm booked on DN14 at the end of this month - really looking forward to it.

I've done three or four long runs now and absolutely agree about the noise - didn't notice it at all until I wanted it. 1200 miles so far and absolutely love it.

awesome !

I did the Ring last weekend, I'm running the performance option tyres, Conti ForceCntacts - much better than the P Zero's

Well, for anyone with an F-Type R contemplating taking it on track I would say get on and do it. Awesome at the Nurburgring. I actually enjoyed lapping more in the Jag than I did in my previous car, an E92 M3. Gearing isn't quite ideal but apart from that it behaved perfectly and the brakes are stonking. Can't wait until my next trackday.

Normal steels?

I have ceramics on my R which are incredible but I've just bought a V8 S also, wondering how the brakes will hold up in comparison to the CCB's...

Yes, normal steels. I didn't really lean on them until towards the end of the day but when I did I was pleasantly surprised. I'm sure they won't stop the car as quickly as the ceramics but they are very good and there was no fade at all.
