v8 Vantage roadster - swap to V8 F type

I know all the magazines say the F type is the most beautiful car ever made, but not in my opinion.
Enzo Ferrari did say that about a Jaguar, but he was not referring to the F-type.
In future years, it is possible that the F-type will be held in higher regard than the XJS, perhaps on a par with the XK8.
What do you think?

Jag seem to be struggling, i bet you'll get a cracking deal on a new one! Bear in mind, they must have run out of money during the R&D phase of development of the F type, as the V6 still has the V8 lump in it, albeit minus 2 conrods & pistons!! Oh, and they have minimal traction, with no weight over the rear wheels. I guess its an itch you need to scratch,,,but why???
Is that correct or am I reading it wrong? Two empty cylinders??RobDown said:
Totally pointless thread imho. People buy these cars with their hearts not their heads. The OP has clearly already made up his mind to try a Jaguar F-Type, so no amount of rational "it's not as good a car as the Aston" from those of us who have driven both (surely a large percentage here given its an alternative) is going to convince him otherwise
Just wish him luck and we'll see him in 12 months when he realises the error
Thanks everyone for the multiple replies. I've got to sell wasn't expecting this many comments in such a short time. Very clearly Aston owners feel very passionate about their cars.Just wish him luck and we'll see him in 12 months when he realises the error
I don't tend to keep my cars longer than 12 months, I made months into owning the Vantage and really have only just hit the decent weather to be able to get out and use it properly. All of those who suggested it, of course I've asked the same question on the Jaguar forum and, surprise surprise the comments are pretty much the opposite as the Aston Forum.
I love the idea of the Aston, having driven the Jaguar for a couple of thousand miles, I can say I didn't really find it artificial and really enjoyed it. I've actually decided to answer my own question by renting a Jaguar this summer for a week to see how I get on before deciding if I want to swap from one to the other.

Go to a dealer in your aston, get them to price up a part ex on a brand new f-type. Get them to lend you one for an extended test drive.I don't tend to keep my cars longer than 12 months, I made months into owning the Vantage and really have only just hit the decent weather to be able to get out and use it properly. Ps why is the jaguar forum so dead? You've got 2 responses on their and one is from a guy who doesn't own an f-type....
Seems a bit odd
I was surprised to get so many replies on this forum, but equally surprised to get so little on the Jaguar forum. I can only surmise by assuming that Aston owners are far more passionate than Jaguar owners. I think the biggest difference is that the Aston ranges all about performance whereas an awful lot of the Jaguar range is not.Seems a bit odd
