Hi all.

A recent purchase of a 2009 AM DB9 15k miles was going well until yesterday; the wing mirror adjustment stopped working - no warning, it was perfect one minute and then the following day it just didn't work

If I press either left or right switch to select the mirror neither switch illuminates and neither is adjustable - won't move at all. Also, I discovered if I press both left and right at the same time then the left button illuminates but still won't adjust.

Is this a common symptom/failure? I'm pretty tool handy and would like to try and fix it before taking it to AM and taking a bath. Plus I like fixing stuff myself; Just thought if anyone can shed any light or suggest certain things to check. No error messages or warning triangle and everything else is fine.

Any tips greatly appreciated

Thanks smile

Well, I pulled fuse no 83 and this reset the drivers door module - works fine.

That would have cost you an hours labour at the dealer if not more, so good work !

Yeah and all the other 'recommendations' it doesn't need but they try to convince you anyway

If it's the actual mirror, they are Volvo units get a second hand one off flea bay.
My left one didn't work when I bought the car, it was the door module had a bad contact.

It's fine now. I managed to let the battery drain and I assume that caused the problem - works a treat now after the module reset.

Thanks for the future info though smile

No problem - glad it was a cheap fix like mine was!

Experiencing the same problem on my DB9, pulled both F82 and F83 but it made no difference.

Window switches are working fine, mirrors also fold in when locking, and folds out when key is inserted,
but doesn't react to the switches - cannot move mirror or fold in when pressing both buttons,
The led that indicates left or right on the switch doesn't light up either.

Anyone experience this? Is it a switch problem which may need replacing?

Thank you.

Does anyone know if this would be the same fix for a V8VS?

If so, what’s the fuse number? Nothing in the manual....

Ta v much

I have a DB9 Volante 2005 27k same problem with remote mirror adjustment, both just stopped working overnight. pulling fuse 83 didn't work, tried 82 and 83 for both doors but still nothing. windows work fine. I always keep the battery conditioner on when not in use. If any body has any ideas or knowledge that would be great. I might try a full reset if I can find out the best way to do it, but I think that might be quite involved if things like ignition coils have to relearn the settings etc.

I think its the door modules on the way out. My 2004 DB9 does the same with the mirrors. I have had to remove door panel disconnect the module several times to reset things [always the passenger side]. Removing the fuses made no difference. I usually notice when the windows don't drop when opening and closing the doors. When we have some nice weather and it comes out the garage I am going to disconnect again. Apparently it can also affect the locking of the doors.
