And as a footnote, having followed Pierre's story this is one reason why I'd be nervous of a relatively new car being sold through a non-specialist Indy dealer - i'm sure there are bargains to be had but there could equally also be a reason why it's not in the dealer network - I wonder if the previous owner was aware of the problem? (I would similarly be cautious about cars at auction)
I understand this, but for me, I will be concerned on how the warranty constructor could not repair a car with 6 following attempts, as for a particular owning the car 18-20 months, and have it serviced in AML Le Cannet 9 months ago, leaving his car to a non AML dealer this is perfectly legit, and i understand it again more now if you want to know.you guys are talking about ppi extended warranty, but this car had a constructor warranty!

this is what the person said:
"But if I was you I would NOT use ceramic at all. I only use it for winter protection. For a car like AM and XK that is rarely driven, wax is MUCH better. It gives you the same benefits and is a pleasure to use.
Also Cquartz has a polish now that has the ceramic in it. In most show cars this is enough. And yes it has a very good shine more than any coating.
I recommend a good wax in your case."
"This is the alternative I was talking about.https://carpro.uk.com/collections/pa...cts/essence250
One thing to keep in mind about 2 year finishes like Cquartz is that you cant put anything on top of it like wax. And you eventually have to take it off, which requires a lot of polishing. It really meant for people who dont want to wax a car every 3 months. I want to! So I have some regrets about using Cquartz.
The way all these coatings work is simple. If you put pure nano ceramic on your car, it will fall off in a few washes. So they mix it with glue that sticks it to your car. The ceramic will fall off the glue too, but takes over a year. The glue stays longer and has to be removed by polishing."
"Incidentally, cquartz is Fantastic for wheels, you will never have difficulty cleaning brakedust off.
If you want show winning shine coatings are not for you. They are not bad, but they dont give that dripping wet look on Black cars that is so beautiful."
I bought a nano combining ceramic and wax, and it was dry, hard to apply, I gave up, i use the karnauba wax which is much more easy to apply.
O/T I hate waxing cars! I also find the paint soft on the Aston and easily marked. Ceramic coatings harden the surface to resist scratches and waxes from bees bums or palm trees do not I'm beyond delighted with the lasting shine, beading and results and low maintenance regime (just spray 'Reload' every 6 months). I also know an expensive wax can look amazing "But if I was you I would NOT use ceramic at all. I only use it for winter protection. yes, and i tried air cond. off and it does the same clacking noise and yes i believe the videos where Air cond, off too.
I must go back to valencia tomrrow for more tests, i am really like bringing it to be sure its not repaired, 7 th time.
I talked to the shop AML owner and he said maybe the AMDS diagnostic tool do not work well or the car hide the error, note that when i brought the car in first the 7th April, the AMDS diagnostic tool was not there but in service.

I will be curious to see your car after you do the c quartz, its a very cheap and light polish I will have done, it won't last, i may need to look at a c quartz , I have 4 or 5 spot where the paint s gone, very small but i rather have them fixed before a c quartz dont you have any?

There will always be marks on the car - Mclaren rear tyre added Welsh stone chips at the moment! Just touch up as best as possible. Here's a video of the CQuartz (quel coincidence )! This was shot about 18 months ago - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CER4wuvR36Q Shje's having a very light detail and top-up this week.Edited by pete1212 on Monday 23 May 18:09

In case you were curious this is what the engineer has done to my car, so you know:
"our engineer has completed a full engine health check, changed spark plugs and MAF sensors and made a minor adjustment to the engine CAL on idle speed control.
The vehicle seems to be ok now, however the engineer would still like to make further adjustments tomorrow morning to ensure that the car is perfect to return to you. It will also require the misfires relearning tomorrow and a road-test to confirm changes."
