Not another DBS ?!?!
Discussion
Being one of the other "tourists" on the recent trip for the Monaco Historique, I couldn't help thinking for most of the journey that the DBS Volante must be near enough the perfect grand tourer, and given the opportunity, I should endeavour to find one.
Now I was not expecting this to be an easy task as fellow PH'er Bincenzo decided to start a DBS frenzy right in the middle of our Monaco trip!! Anyway, we got home Wednesday evening and I immediately started my search.
Given the relative low numbers of DBSV's in the UK, I was expecting this to be a fairly long wait, but luckily for me, a car I had been eyeing the week before was still available and a deal had to be done. The very next day, deposits were paid and test drives / inspections carried out on the weekend. The car was actually in very good condition but had a few minor things that needed to be sorted before I could collect her.. A very long and stressful week followed of not only waiting, but getting my finances in order which included selling my 993 Cabriolet in addition to trading in my 2005 DB9. It was all worth it though as I collected her late yesterday, and even though I haven't had the opportunity yet to take it out for a decent drive, I know that this will be my perfect car!
As is obligatory, here are some pictures.. The car is Quantum Silver with Lords Red and Obsidian interior..

Lovely and great interior too.
I'm historically a soft top man but always had to keep it up (no comments please) due to my wife's long blond hair - first world problem.
I like the process of selling a couple of cars to get one (that makes engagement with other halves more palatable - just need to get a few more cars first!!!)
Now Bins, you've been slacking. When are you getting yours?

Thanks all for the positive feedback Now that I've experienced the car for a day, I'm completely in love with it and will likely be keeping this one

Congratulations Marcel, another stunner! (Don't tell Nick but his is gorgeous too, despite him being a bell end). Very much looking forward to seeing it next weekend.

I still think the DBS is one of the most strikingly beautiful cars of the modern era and I will very much look forward to seeing it along with Nick's
at Burghley.
Thanks Ed.. Looking forward to it and sorry for messing up your parking plans at Burghley.

I've never been a fan of the soft tops, however the wife is but then only in perfect conditions.. Top down "it's too cold", top back up.. "Let's put the top down", then "It's too hot".. Top back up again.. TBH, she absolutely loves having the top down but conditions must be perfect... I guess better to have the option than not at all Gettoff said:
