I tried it, but after half an hour, could not take any more.
Cringed throughout the three wheeler item.
Low grade and dreadful.

Switched off and went to watch some paint dry.
Found that to be a much higher standard of entertainment.

Chris Evans is unwatchable annoying. Matt Le Blanc comes across quite well. Hope they phase out Evans and phase in more Chris Harris and it might survive.

Starting a thread about Top Gear in the Aston Martin forum despite knowing there's a proper Top Gear thread.

I had forgotten how annoying Chris Evans shouty voice really is. Just talk normally.

Looks like Chris Harris was demoted to the sister show 'Extra Gear' (bbc3) which I just watched on iPlayer. Real shame.

Well, this is now the "proper" Astin Martin thread about our views on Top Gear.

And it was absolute ste, just like your comment.

I can't see why we shouldn't have a top gear thread here too. I rarely venture into General Gassing

I agree Rob, I don't venture far from this forum as it reflects our marque and our thoughts.

I found Tony's in depth review very interesting……….hehe and in reflection tend to agree with him.

I also noticed that CE did overly shout like an excited kid in the toy shop, someone needs to turn his volume control down a tad.

Lets give it a chance but on first encounters I won't be fussed if I miss it next time.

Great review Tone all the same…….thumbup

Exactly. I couldn't make it even half way through, Chris Evens' constant shouting drove me away. The show would be much better without him but is always doomed in having to live up to the chemistry and banter of Clarkson/May/Hammond.

The BBC don't seem to realise this was what people tuned in to watch and what made it so big the world over.

Recorded it , watched no more than ten minutes by flicking through it then deleted it.

Not impressed , but in fairness I'll give it time.

I enjoyed it, a wee bit shouty, but enjoyed it nonetheless.

The Top Gear: Extra Gear on the iplayer I enjoyed much more, though paperbag

Agreed. The extra gear program was better but mostly because Chris Evans wasn't on it much. He really is annoying.

  • Tony, you're a man of few words... But when you do speak... biggrin
  • Evans was SHOUTING all the damn time.
  • The producers have tried to do an exact copy of Clarkson and Co's antics and mannerisms. Try Hard, I say. Do something different.
  • LeBlanc had a refreshingly dry sense of humour. Enjoyable to watch.
  • Harris and Sabine should be at the forefront, not the background.
  • Looking forward to the VULCAN!! smile
  • Next week's episode seems to have a good selection of cars...
  • Audience reactions seemed scripted and over the top.
  • Have Amazon Prime so will be getting the best of both worlds... wink

... and if you invite a celeb on to the show to talk about their cars, you'd think to check first that they actually own a bloody car.
