Please may I say it again, unfortunately this event is now full and registration is closed.

Please do not add yourself to the register list and please now refrain from emailing with your registrations as I'll get shot if I keep being kind and letting people in.

Its now fuller than full is full so please do not mail as I don't wish to have to mail back with disappointment notices.

Phil,

I'm aware some won't turn up and the weather will also play a bit part but the off set to the no shows is the ones that haven't bothered to register and decide on the weekend if the suns out to join in.

Its a very difficult one to balance but at all times I have to adhere to Burghleys requests and of course keep safety paramount in mind.

At this rate we could be there all day just getting in.

Everyone please keep your eye on future posts pending as if will feel it worthwhile we may ask for some early risers to come a bit earlier than 9 am but this is only a thought currently.

Thanks again for all the support its gone a bit crazy the last few days with registrations so lets now be seeing those registrations turn into donations please.

ALL DONATIONS GRATEFULLY RECEIVED BY VISITING MY VIRGIN MONEY GIVING PAGE……..HERE'S THE SHORT LINK. http://bit.ly/1Sga3cV

Don't be shy its a good thing you do to help others less fortunate…...thumbup

Come on guys the White Heart is a great place and only just down the road from Burghley House, send John a mail with your bid…...smash

****BURGHLEY HOTEL OFFER****BURGHLEY HOTEL OFFER****BURGHLEY HOTEL OFFER****BURGHLEY HOTEL OFFER****
After a change in plans I have an extra room at The White Hart in Ufford, Stamford going spare. The Double en-suite room is booked for Friday 1st July and Saturday 2nd July and is valued at £220. I’m sure there is demand for a room and rather than cancel thought I would do another bit for all Ed’s hard work. So, up for silent auction - I’ll honour the cost of the room and anyone that wants it drop me a Private Message with your bid, the winner puts the bid amount into the Charity money pot that is Ed’s Virgin Giving page, ( http://bit.ly/1Sga3cV ) I’ll send them the room voucher. I'll close offer on Monday evening.

Hi Kev,

Payment is preferred in cash or by cheque on the day as the goods or prize vouchers will be given out during the auction to the successful bidders.

Alternatively if we have wifi in the park (we did last time) payments can be made direct to my Virgin Just Giving page but in this instance gift aid should not be claimed.

We may also have a Pay Pal machine available but this is not a preferred method and would only be used as a last resort as Pay Pal take a large commission from each transaction
which in theory robs the charity pot.

If you intend to bid on the day you need not inform me before hand, but if you can't attend and wish to lodge a bid please just email me and I will log it and revert if you get lucky.

Hope that all helps,

Ed…...thumbup

Unfortunately we are in the lap of the Gods weather wise,I can control most things but the weather is beyond me I'm afraid.

Basically if its extremely wet we are stuffed as there is only grass and more grass in the park, this said the ground is very well drained as it sits on limestone I understand.

I recently visited after torrential rain the day before and I turned up wearing Wellies, but Lucy the Events Manager walked the grounds with me in Velvet shoes without issue……….

They repeatedly tell me at Burghley not to worry about the wet as the natural drainage is amazing……..rolleyes

I will make a note to take the Rangie and a long rope so theres on need for anyone to pack a canoe.

Lets keep our fingers crossed that the weather is at least dry.

Regarding your day at Burghley do visit their website : www.burghley.co.uk

What to bring………?, well sun tan cream and plenty of fluids for starters, putting the positive back into the post but also bring an umbrella and wet weather gear just in case.

I would suggest a picnic as although we have catering on the lower field in addition to the usual Burghley cafe's and restaurant, these may be busy so as I've mentioned
in previous posts along the way its best to make a reservation if you want to use the Orangery Restaurant.

Bring your camera is an obvious must along with some loot if you fancy a dabble with the raffle or a pop at an auction lot.

Other than that just treat it as if you were making any day trip out in the Aston.

If you have any more specific questions just shout or better still send me an email.

Bit of a bummer this………

Rather then leave it to the last minute the BBMF have informed me that unfortunately the Lancaster is lost to this event.

After its much publicised fire it has been under going repairs which I understand have been completed but there appears to be issues in gaining its air worthiness papers .

With this in mind I have to inform everyone of the Lanc's cancellation.

The BBMF are now looking at shuffling the pack and displaying a Spitfire at 2 pm followed by a Hurricane circa 4pm.

Sorry about this but as you will appreciate it is out of my hands,I will of course update you if anything changes on this front.

What a bummer……...frown

Well my personal nightmare in the park is firmly now in sight so its time to start a final rally on a few points so after surviving Le Man and yet another up rising at Calais I'm
back to rally the troops for the big push.

1, We have a few places left for Clive Chedzey's remote exhaust switch fitment on the day, remember every penny Clive takes goes directly into the Charity pot so please
make your appointment by contacting Clive prior to the event here : Home 01252 614127 or by mobile 0780 6465818.

2, I'm now calling for anybody who wants to pre order their copy of the Events collectors poster, this poster is of a very high quality and is A1 ( 594 x 841 ) in size.

There great value at £25.00 each and again a fiver from each sale is being donated by Andrew Hill to the charities.

3, My Virgin Money Giving page total collected so far is now just £788.44 short of what the event managed to collect on my first attempt at Burghley in 2014 so please if you
can help me get to the £11,132.20 we achieved last time before the Event officially takes place this time I would be over the moon as its makes all the effort even more worthwhile.

If you wish to help me achieve this milestone please visit here to make your donation: http://bit.ly/1Sga3cV

4, Although the Lancaster is grounded my friends at RAFA are hoping to bring along a very large scale model of a Spitfire so any children or small adults can have there picture taken
with it or generally just enjoy its presence on the day.

5, With over 600 cars registered to attend we shall adopt a random field layout to try and speed up your passage into the event,by random I mean you might be parked next to a DB5 or
even something that came off the line last week.

Hopefully this will add to the spectacle as it won't leave clumps of Vantages parked in a row and in doing so add to the interest as each car can then be admired and photographed for its
own individual beauty.

6, Logistically the biggest test of the day is getting you all in with as little fuss as possible, please show patience as everyone helping is doing it as a volunteer and to give you a great day out.

To help us make your transit into position as swift as possible please have a tenner ready in hand to pass to the Steward,at this point will we send you on to either of several locations to park.

Please take on board the Stewards instruction if you are given any as it will help your passage, for instance you may be asked to put your hazard lights on or even your headlights.

Please follow these instruction and move on to your allocated parking zones.

7, We will have 2 pay stations in place so if you are waved past the first just continue to the next station, this will be pointed out to you and it may help get people in faster.

If you are in convoy with friends we will if possible send you the same way but no promises here so please just go with the flow.

8, On arrival and receipt out of your window of a tenner you will be given the Event Programme at no extra charge, this may contain some flyers of potential interest and it will
certainly contain your concessions voucher for entry to the House should you choose to take the tour.

9, Programmes are only complimentary at this point and if others including visitor or friends want a copy please do the decent thing and chuck a quid or two in the charity bucket.

Extra programmes are available only from my Gazebo and once they are gone they are gone I'm afraid as our aim is to give every Aston displaying owner a copy.

I personally hope you like my effort at writing a programme from scratch as this has been very challenging as I'm thick as a post, it will at the very least act as a souvenir of your day.

10, Please take note that there is First Aid available in the House but I have provided additional cover by way of 3 First Aiders and an Ambulance in case anyone is taken poorly, please
note that this medical care is situated directly behind my Charity Gazebo and PA post on the lower field.

Ok thats my few points covered to aid your enjoyment of what might turn out to either be a logistical nightmare of biblical proportion or an absolutely incredible occasion,I'm hoping for
the later.

Right over to you now to help me boost this charity pot………:http://bit.ly/1Sga3cV

Many thanks,

Ed.

Evening Ross,

If you have been following my updates you will know of the recent loss to this event of the Lancaster as it has not gained the necessary air worthiness papers, this has caused
a reshuffle by the BBMF who have at this point told me we will have a Spitfire at 2pm followed by a Hurricane at 4pm.

These will display directly above us on the lower field although they will be visible where ever you are on the grass.

Our Raffle and Auction will commence from 1.15 pm.

Although a little earlier than I would have liked the response to my scrounging campaign has been staggering so we need to start early to get through the mountains of prizes
and auction lots.

Stuff is still arriving so everyone should chance a few bob in the raffle as this is all good gear.

For instance today 4 bottles of James Bond fragrances turned up from the cosmetics department in Boots Peterborough such has been my begging campaign.

Yesterday the postman delivered several of Grant's recently updated Guide to Gaydon Aston Martins,a must for everyones collection.

My wife has spent hours putting together gamer style gifts such has been the generous response to my miserable efforts, theres plenty for the ladies and my wife has made everything look spectacular.

Returning to the planes 4pm may sound a bit late but honestly stick around as there will be plenty on offer to see, discuss and photograph and thats all before you meet so many friends old and new.

If the sun shines we could easily top 650 cars here if some unregistered cars just decide to rock up.

Oh yes you will have a group of natters running around for your entertainment from 11 am through to 1 pm by way of the Rutland Morris Men……….nutters the lot of them.

You'll all get my effort of a programme on arrival, the auction lots are described in there along with a reminder of the kickoff time,we shall race through the raffle before we get down
to the serious stuff.

Andy Palmer will be on hand to pull a few tickets to get the ball rolling so dig deep and being your cameras and enjoy your day.

Any more questions please just shout…...thumbup

Evening All,

Due to an unexpected cancellation a room is available for 2 nights at the George Hotel in Stamford.

Below is the rates the George are quoting, but you do get secure Aston parking…….lol.

The big push is now on as we approach D Day.

We made a total of £11,132.20 for charity back in 2014 with only 246 cars present that day.

Can you help me find the still required figure of £513.44 that we need to match that figure before we get to the 3rd of July please.

As Mickrapide pointed out in an earlier post, some now 98 donations have now been received and several from people who return to help further so it leaves a lot left that could donate
out of 600 odd cars that are attending.

If the other 500 odd chucked in a tenner each the jobs a good um,but hey I not moaning just trying to help others slightly less fortunate currently.

Soon all be over now and I'll shut up again for a year or so once I'm safely back in my padded cell…………promise.

Here you go have a few directions that you may find useful.

Directions

Burghley is 1 mile from Stamford and 20 minutes north of Peterborough on the A1.

From the South:

Take the Carpenters Lodge exit on the A1 signposted to Burghley House, turn left on to the B1081 towards Stamford.

Follow the road alongside the park wall and the impressive Bottle Lodges entrance gates down towards Stamford.

Turn right just past the Bull & Swan Pub and continue for 1 mile along the Barnack Road (B1443). You will see the Visitors Entrance on the right.

From the North:

Follow the A1 south past Doncaster and Grantham.

Approximately 30 minutes south of Grantham you will reach the Stamford junction labelled Carpenters Lodge and signposted to Burghley House.

Turn left towards Stamford.

Follow the road past the estate wall and the impressive Bottle Lodges entrance gates.

Just past the A43 on the left, turn right past the Bull & Swan Pub and continue for 1 mile along the Barnack Road (B1443). You will see the Visitors Entrance on the right.

Right so that gets you in but be aware that we will leave the venue by a different exit as you will leave via the Bottle Lodge Main Gate House.

Take note of the stewards should instruction be given or simply follow the arrows.

Lets hope I remember to put the arrows out else it will be fun……...biggrin

Hope that helps,

Ed.

Please be aware and before anyone asks I have been in touch with Burghley House regarding the use of Drones.

Unfortunately the reply to my enquiry was that Drones are banned from use within the Estate.

Sorry, but I have to abide strictly to the rules so please do me the courtesy and leave them at home.

Ed.

I'm thinking of applying a stills camera tax on the day if we don't get the £414.00 I still need in the charity pot to match 2014's effort over the weekend…….biggrin

To avoid this hideously large camera tax you can pre donate here http://bit.ly/1Sga3cV and avoid any further taxation on arrival.

All unlicensed cameras will be confiscated and entered into the Auctiion…...hehe

Not long to go now before the plot unravels along with my nerves no doubt.

I keep banging on and I'm sure your fed up with my constant quest to raise funds for those here in the UK that are currently less fortunate………………..smash

But just a few more quid in the charity bin will match the total for the whole event from 2014.

As I persist in repeating, we made £11,132.20 for charity on that occasion so with a week to go before this nightmare in the park unfolds we are now just bounce £350.94 bounce short
of matching that total.

If we could match that its then all down hill as every further bean is a major bonus,I've bust my hump on this (no medals required) so can the PH massive nudge me over the line
before I go over my own metal edge nuts.

Nurse the straight jacket if you please……..yikes

I would commend those that have donated and as you know its very much appreciated so as its Saturday night why not get a few down your necks and take pity on a fat old man
by chucking a few bob in the pot.

Nijius,

Hope you are well………

On your recent performances I doubt you would be out of bed for 8 am………..biggrin and remember the good lady will want to beautify herself for the day
before you start rushing about…….woohoo

Joking apart the arrival time can be from just before 9.am but not 8.00 am as please remember we have to put the commercial side of the event in place
before we can accept 600 plus cars.

Give us a chance and aim for 9.00 am onwards please.

If everyone could have there tenner's ready for a swift and efficient entry we would very much appreciate it as finding change or even chatting at this point
will delay those behind you.

Please follow the Stewards instructions and go where they tell you as we are using several locations for parking that all mingle together so you won't miss anything
where ever you are sent.

I hope that helps and I look forward to welcoming everybody to what is now a massive event.

Btw did I forget to mention that we will have the DB10 of James Bond and Spectre fame on display along with a few other delights hopefully including one
of this years Le Man cars.

Cheers Ed.

There are 2 nice rooms available at the Crown Inn at Elton for Saturday night.

The Crown is some 25 minutes or so from Burghley should anyone is still on a room hunt.

I also understand that the George Hotel in Stamford possibly has a suite available.
