Hi everyone, I was hoping to get some insight from those more familiar with the market than myself.

I currently have an early DB9 (2005) and really want to get into a DBS. I have a talent however for buying cars when they're on a decline, and selling just before they start appreciating.

I'd like to think I could get 32-33k for my DB9, and DBS's are starting at about 80+k. I have the crazy idea (man maths) that the DBS will lose less value than keeping my DB9 - and I'll be safer in a main dealer car with a warranty.

In an ideal world, the DBS will either not go down in value, or even slightly appreciate as I do about 2k miles a year, if that. Then, either swap into a Vanquish in a couple of years when values meet, or if the DBS is appreciating, keep it!

Has my heart taken over my head and made me lose all common sense, or is there any logic whatsoever (beyond creative man-maths) behind my thoughts?

Any advice appreciated.

Does anyone buy a fooookin Astom Martin for the love of it anymore ????

If you need the money I can advise you on an investment that will give you minimum 25% return, otherwise just enjoy the damn thing.

Only the fools who buy new ones and take the initial hit for others - Oh that's me eek but at least we enjoy driving our cars smile

However, anyone buying a DBS would struggle to lose much on it - but please use it!

Well said Ian. You're in the same boat as Mikey.

I never bought my Astons for financial gain. I just loooooooved the feeling of owning them and driving them, albeit badly hehe

Don't worry, I fully intend to kick the arse out of mine when I get it! Should be the end of this week. The residuals were a sound tactic in my campaign to buy the DBS. My wife agreed based upon the fact it wouldn't lose too much more, and if I need to sell for any reason, than that's what I do. Mine's fairly leggy at 39k miles but that will not stop me from using it.

Really excited for you Bins. Let's face it, 39k is not really leggy wink

That's very true matey, but I'm surrounded by others that have relatively low mileage, so I do have the perception of it being well used. In reality, I don't care as this will very much be a keeper (seem to remember saying that about the last one....). Anyway, more importantly, when are we going to see you back in one? I miss you. Actually, that's not true, I miss your wife.
