Anyone here bought a DB11 Yet?
Discussion
I considers placing a deposit. The price plus a few options is on my comfort zone, however like most PHers, I don't like the idea of losing a tonne of cash on depreciation (which is very likely). If I was twice as rich the I wouldn't care so hoping somebody twice as rich as me buys them up so that I can pick one up in 18 months.
One annoyance about the initial build is that it's old fashioned iron disc brakes.
So dusty and messy. Never mind the braking performance (I am the guy who drives the guy who drives Miss Daisy) but I like not having brake dust caked on my wheels.
Awful BS from I think Minards saying not needed...
Of course they are not needed. Same as we don't really need 7 speed manual gearboxes. But we want them!

With those reviews, if I were a dealer I'd be getting up early today as the phone is probably already ringing. So happy for AML that they have got it so right straight out of the box. I won't be buying one as I'm a Vantage man but there's a new one of those coming soon too. Happy days

I agree.
This is clearly a new era for AML.
Queues of customers for their cars.
The keenest customers are allowed to move forward in the queue, by buying packages of profitable extras.
Brilliant - they will be reporting a pre-tax profit next.
It does look good and it needed these "positive" initial reviews which will form the basis, of hopefully good sales.
Still not for me. I like the DB9, I think the shape is actually sexier than the Vantage but I love my Vantage because its more sportier so relates more to how I drive and it is a manual (ignoring the small amount of man DB9's). I perfected my heel and toe so want to keep it that way.
Therefore I am looking forward to the new Vantage and hope they provide for those like me that want to see that DSC flicker on our favourite bend!

Update: I enquired and was told I could be given a build slot for Q4 this year as long as I went with a "Launch spec" car - i.e a car with circa £30k of options added!
£20k options = Q1 2017 and anything less mid 2018
Really?? I was told the earliest would be third quarter next year... I need to speak to my dealer... £20k options = Q1 2017 and anything less mid 2018

Wowser, youve only just got the Vanquish! Are you getting the itch again already?
Adam, I love my Vanquish (as my forthcoming Vanquish vs McLaren review, now at over 4,000 words, will attest to). I always had the the plan to buy the DB11 next year but there's no harm in finding out...
But seriously seeing this baby parked up always puts a smile on my face... Now with the wife's name on the plates to appease her...

That's quite an unusual name S33MSN...how actually do you pronounce it ?
Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick,is your wife's name Vanquish ?
The reviews mark a real shift in the motoring press' attitude to AML, which is massively important to the company. I visited the factory today and despite being on summer shutdown, the place was awash with employees scanning the reviews with that 'expectant Father' look about them. Well, they can now be very proud indeed of what they have produced. This, I hope, marks the start of a very exciting period for the company that, despite severe financial hardship, made our cars, the cars that we adore. Now they are making cars that even the most hard nosed motoring hacks are celebrating as being the best Aston they've ever driven. I, for one, am very, very pleased for AM. Great work.
