That's quite an unusual name S33MSN...how actually do you pronounce it ?
Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick,is your wife's name Vanquish ? smile
Haha...well spotted. wink

My wife's name is Seema but everyone calls her Seems. I'm getting the number plate reprinted to "S33MS N". Which is perfect as our surname begins with an N as well...

It was meant to be! biggrin

Bless you Nij....I was concerned I might cause offence and was about to delete.
Looking forward to meeting you soon.

Your humour never causes offence, Steven.

It is just that some people do not laugh much, or perhaps even understand that you are joking.
Difficult to believe I know, because your login name should give them a big clue.

I have to laugh because my doctor told me, "Happy people do appear to live longer".

Private Eye have looked at some records, and they discovered that one of the political party leaders (that is leader as in, 'follow me I am right behind you'), last laughed in 1963.

Really?

I've always perceived the motoring press to look very favourably on AML.

Ha, no offence whatsoever. Want to see offence? Go to the Watches forum on Piston Heads and say you like Tag watches... Prepare yourself for abuse... biggrin

And as Jon said your name should give it away. People get pissed off for no good reason on the Internet. People need to chill out... smile

Looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks as well mate. It's a full house now at my Aston event so it should be a great day. Especially seeing that "Ford Focus" of yours... wink

Was hoping that it wouldn't be a 2+0 GT, which seeing one at Burghley confirmed it is. Bit disappointed really given its massive outside appearance. If it had been a 2+2 then would've given it a very serious look.

Will therefore pass on the DB11 and hope that the new Vantage does the business for me as a 2 seater. Has a lot of competition in that space though.

Good to see it seems to be a commercial success.

I'll rephrase that, as I think to a certain extent you're right, although I always felt they were giving AM the benefit of the doubt and forgiving certain shortfalls calling them nuances. My thoughts now are that they are seeing AML as a real, credible contender that, in the DB11, needs no allowances as it has hit the spot perfectly. The reviews are very encouraging and hopefully now AM will be seen by the press as less of a cottage industry and more of a real presence in the luxury market. Great work either way.

Sorry guys, I should've been clearer, my kids happily got in the rear of the Virage until they were 12 years old (passenger side only). About 15 months ago, they couldn't get in because of leg room and headroom.

The front seats of the '11 that I saw were pushed back right against the rear. I've heard that there is a bit more space than the old DB9 but it seems marginal.

Unfortunately my kids have sprouted up even more since then! At 14 they're almost 6' tall now.
So I should've said its a 2+0 for my family.
getmecoat

it seems to be a bit of a chunky monkey (maybe that's just visual) and given the opportunity to redesign it, I had hoped it might be more spacious inside so I could get one. However I do understand that Marek couldn't just take care of my specific needs smile

I'm glad it's a success though, keeps the marque going stronger than ever. I know a mate who has bought one, getting back into an Aston for the first time in about 7 years. His is coming early next year I think.

I had the same issue with my kids in the DB9 - hence the move to a Rapide. I know this may sound odd to anyone that's not tried it, but our issue with the DB9 was less legroom (you sit with your knees either side of the seat in front) and more a lack of headroom as the roof curves down quickly at the back

The DB11 has a little more legroom and importantly more headroom, but not enough to make me think of swapping back from the Rapide

This is a real PITA for me.
I have a DB9V and it's not suitable to transport my adult daughters.
Although this is a rare occurrence nowadays it would be nice to have the choice.
Any chance of a Rapide Volante ?

It was the same with my Vanquish: my daughters ran out of head-room before leg-room.

At that point the Bentley T2 started getting a lot more use, which over time proved more than a 40-year-old car could handle. It's since been traded in on an Arnage.

I'm sure Q will do you one, but based on the GT12 roadster you won't get much change from a £1m

But more realistically this is why I originally was going to switch to a Rapide/v12vs roadster combo (before the dealer side-tracked me with a gt8)

I don't think you, or your daughters, would look at all right in a full four seater convertible.

There is something that puts me off the whole idea.

I have noticed that some DB11s have a black plastic looking egg-crate type grill whereas others have the more traditional metal bars. I prefer the bars.
