Hi all. New to this forum. Possibly looking at getting a Vantage and leaving the TVR fold. Went to look at one on Friday. One question, are the body panels a mix of aluminium and plastic. I could see small bubbles of corrosion on the underside lip on the bonnet. I presume its aluminium?
Thanks

Correct.

In addition, you will be able to stick a magnet to the rear quarter panels and the windscreen surround,
ie. steel.

The paint bubbling will therefore not be corrosion, so the panel itself should be fine.
Look around the door handles and mirror stems, where there is sometimes bubbling.

Bonnet, doors, roof and hatch are aluminium. Front wings and bumpers composite and rear quarters steel as Jon says.

Thanks for the replies. Are there any issues with the bodies, corrosion in any particular places? Is the bubbling down to paint application?

Aluminium can corrode, yes, especially in crevice areas. The underside lip of the bonnet is a very common area for corrosion to occur. Sometimes this can even manifest itself on the top of the front corners.
