Hoping to install a new head unit with dab soon and therefore need an aerial for this. Was hoping to use a screen mount one but the best one I'd used is no longer available. So was going to use an aerial convertor but these need the existing aerial to not be amplified, so where can I disconnect the amplifier in the monaro?

Are you sure it's amplified ? I've taken the r8 one out and found no sign of an amp unless it's hidden

I would remove CD player and see if it's behind that , I don't remember seeing an amp but all I did with mine was a swap

Isn't it passenger side behind the rear seat back, or tucked up near the rear pillar? There is something up there with plugs similar to those used in FM connections. My shocking memory can't quite remember now but don't remember seeing anything like that around the rear midrange speakers, just the reversing buzzer.

after doing some googling, some appear to have it under the rear parcel shelf. Was a good read finding out about that because i now know why i have such rubbish radio reception since replacing my headunit.

Just use an Autoleads amplified windscreen one, you can get them from Halfords at £19.99, we usre them all the time in work and I've personally got one on my Monaro.
