Just tried to order a couple but the checkout stopped working.
Site is running very slowly.

If I managed to order and pay (unlikely but possible), would they have to honour the deal ?
I know about "invitation to treat" but once they have accepted payment surely the contract has been agreed.

If they take your money, you have a leg to stand on. But they won't and you will get a nice polite email on Monday morning telling you to feck off.

Have my 'Thank you for your order' email - how long until I get the 'I'm sorry but ...' notification!

I thought I'd have four as I didn't want to be greedy, but by the time it showed the basket it came to £14,400.
Um, no thanks.

No, they said they ordered 650. And the same guy said he ordered 450 earlier, and hes just now posted to say hes ordered another 1300.

It is the school holidays after all

About 20 years ago, they worked out they didn't have to honour it after Argos put up TVs for £5 by mistake.

They've been correcting it since earlier on this evening - early orders got the order @ £1.97 and a "thank you" email. Subsequent orders now appear as £1.97 on the site, but go in to your basket at £3600

And HP have to "accept" the order, so getting a confirmation email confirming the order placed means diddly.

Amazon ordered a Blu Ray box set that had a price of £59.99 but was on at £2 something @ 1 per person recently, but no mission of this being honoured.

Yep. Seen loads of these things. Wouldn't even waste your time as all it means is that you have no product but they now have your details for marketing.

There were some people paying by credit card and its reserved the full amount on their credit cards for payment, not just the £1.97...

Too much hassle with no chance of it being honoured.

The thing is, if only a few dozen people ordered and there was only slight uptick in orders then there's a chance it might have gone unnoticed. When idiots steam in and order hundreds someone at HP is going to have a look because of the unusual order activity. Happens every time there's a pricing mistake and someone tries to make a profit.

Sounds like that could make sense. So if you find it, don't tell a soul.
