Been donkeys years since I've had to go into Leeds for business and will be taking the car. Anyone know what the current situation is for parking? Is it still coin meters or are they those new credit card ones where you have to phone a number and set up an account in order to pay? I'm going to York Place, just off Wellingston Street. Likelihood of finding a space around there early afternoon? Probably won't need more than 30-45 mins.

It'll be pot luck finding a street space during office hours. But if you do, or need to use a biggie...

Good job, thanks! Very useful. I don't want to use a multi-storey as I managed to trash one of my alloys last time through my hamfistedness. frown

There's usually plenty of space around park square and surrounds, but it's bloody expensive on the meter and the wardens are like jackals waiting to pounce!

I can understand you not wanting to use a multi-storey, some of those ramps are really tight, with walls that stick out way too far beyond the ends of the ramp! You practically need to do a handbrake turn to line the car up right in one go.

Ever driven a Focus ST mk3? They need an area the size of Kent to make tight turns as the steering lock is pathetic.

Anyway been and gone now. Managed to get parked right outside the front door on York Place and paid my £1.60 for 40 mins, yet from the time on the ticket you actually only get 33 mins furious.

I worked on York Place for 5 years or so and walk along it most days still. There are usually spaces on that road and just pay at the meter for that short amount of time. If not, then you'll no doubt find one on St Pauls Street, Queens Street, Park Place or Britannia Street.

If you are really struggling then there is the old swimming pool site or multi-storey at the end of Lisbon Street.
