I'm not one of those people who spend their lives staring at Facebook on their phone, but admit that I'd likely be shocked/ ashamed of myself were I to be presented with how many times per day I actually check the thing...

Despite my disapproval of folk who obsess over FBook, I'm beginning to wonder if it may actually be the best way to find old, used, rare, classic, or specific marques/ models for sale.

For example, I have recently followed/ joined/ 'liked' (told you I wasn't big on FBook) several car groups along the lines of;

-90s hot hatches for sale

-90s Jap turbo cars for sale

-Retro performance Fords for sale

-Track cars for sale

These pages/ groups post pics and members cars for appreciation, but also make daily posts of cars for sale on EBay and other classifieds.

If you were after for example, a mk2 Escort or Sierra Cosworth for sale (I'm not) you would likely see virtually every ad posted in the UK on your FBook feed, and not long after it was posted. You'd also be stunned at the prices a lot of these once-plentiful old cars have reached since you stopped watching them...

Unless there is a clever app or similar stuff on Twitter, I can't imagine there being a better way to find that very specific car you are after. Certainly beats trawling EBay, AT etc. every day as far as I can tell.

The question is; do other PHers use these groups/ pages to connect to classifieds for old, classic or otherwise specific to your personal taste cars? Have any PHers found a 'special' car via one of these pages? Are there any FBook pages PHers would recommend (I suspect it could be very useful for cheap/ local 'sheds' for example)?

Have signed up for a few local fb groups and the sheds are cheap, but far to many swap only ads, armed with the reg and an mot checker app there are bargains to be had.
