Test Drove a DB11 at Gaydon - My REVIEW

What I coincidence, I was there too that day :-)
I must say when I first walked in, I thought the DB11 in the main foyer was a DB10 - nose on, the similarities are striking (and not in a bad way)
Looking at the DB11s in production, it certainly looks much better in teh flesh, in a real world environment, than on a stand and certainly than in the photos. There is no question it moves Aston on hugely so one can only imagine how large the leap will be to new/replacement Vantage
I am sure that in addition to the significant order book that already exists, it will become even more popular once people starting seeing DB11 out on the roads

Shmee put up his DB11 video - gonna settle down and watch it now. Good to see a near 24 minute video compared to the far shorter various car magazine ones:

Regulars will know that like many others on here, I'll happily speculate til the cows come home if I'm not betraying any confidences but in this instance, my lips are firmly sealed. If anything comes of it, all will become apparent in due course :-)
Manual Vanquish? And you paid Q Division extra to make sure they don't make it for anyone else...?? I called it. chris333 said:
Ha, brilliant! Is this what they call 'Inception'...Zod said:
Thanks for this.
What does the key look like?
Very good question. I forgot to ask to see it on the test drive but the dealer showed me a photo of it. It's basically gloss black and silver (if memory serves me correctly) and doesn't seem too far off, design wise, to the current glass keys. It looked stylish from the photo. What does the key look like?

Got to read this because Andy Palmer retweeted a link by someone he follows on Twitter.
Good read, thanks. And you have reached the top man.
Nice! I just saw it. Hopefully that'll get more people to read the review who wouldn't normally be regular PH readers. Thank you Rob Down for the tweet! Good read, thanks. And you have reached the top man.

Ha ha, I've just done the opposite. Left my Bali sun bed yesterday and read this excellent write up at home suffering jet lag!! Thanks NM you have managed to keep me awake reading this excellent review. The best I have read over the last week...well done.
Thank you so much Frankie! Also, are you lot having some kind of PH Bali group holiday or something?! hashluck said:
Very timely and useful thank you. I will test back to back with 8-speed Vanquish though
Believe it or not I've never driven the 8 speed Vanquish - I was told it's supposed to have less body roll compared to the 6 speed - be very interested to see how it compares...Edited by Nijius Maximus on Wednesday 17th August 19:19

Thank you again Rob and thank you to everyone for the kind words. Makes it worth writing.
The Shmee video is the best video review I've seen so far of the car. Puts proper journalists to shame...
As does your written review. Thanks. The Shmee video is the best video review I've seen so far of the car. Puts proper journalists to shame...
Now if only I could afford one - I know some people won't like this question, but what will the depreciation be like?
I'm guessing (and it is a guess) that values hold pretty well for 6-9 months due to the waiting list and then it follows the normal db9 curve downwards. It's a "mass produced" Aston after all, so no reason for long term premium.
So give it a couple of years and there will be some good used deals to be had.

I agree . I think in the first year there will be a premium on these. So give it a couple of years and there will be some good used deals to be had.

Really enjoyed watching Shmee's video
I am delighted that the DB11 appears to be a worthy successor to the DB9.
Thank you sir. Still wondering where we have met before.I am delighted that the DB11 appears to be a worthy successor to the DB9.
I came dressed as Blofeld, complete with scar and stroking my white pussy.
Other than that,I don't know as,I lead a very sheltered life.
