Does anyone have any experience of having their car transported from UK down to Nice.

The plan is to fly down to Nice and pick up the Car/Cars and spend a long weekend in Monaco. Unfortunately the schedule does not allow time to drive down and back, hence why we are looking into shipping the cars down, plus the uncertainty of the weather last week of October.

Not done anything like this before so grateful if anyone can advise on potential issues, approximate costs and any recommendations of transporters they have used.

Thanks in advance

Dave

For such a short trip, I'd be Googling 'Supercar Hire in Monaco' rather than looking to ship your Aston there and back for just a long weekend. It sounds more hassle than it's worth IMHO.

Last year I was at a service station along the motorway in France and I saw a big lorry on UK plates with numerous interesting cars, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, etc.,...
I had a chat with the driver and he gave me his card, the company he works for do UK - South of France trips on a regular basis with many clients who have a second home in the South of France and who don't bother driving their car down.
I found the card which was tucked away in one of my drawers :

Anchor Vehicle Logistics
Suite 6, South Ribble Enterprise Park
Grove Road, Walton-le-Dale
Preston, Lancashire PR5 4AQ
info@anchorvehiclelogistics.com
Direct: +44 (0)1772 886 677
www.anchorvehiclelogistics.com

I have no affiliation whatsoever with this company and don't know if they are trustworthy, it's the only contact I have, I have never nor have anyone I know used their service. Has anyone on here?

Wouldn't even bother with that. It's Monaco. You can walk across it in under an hour. If you need to save shoe leather get a taxi.

I've used AVL about 4 times now, never had a problem and as I'm in South of Spain it makes more sense than driving back to UK all the time.

Most recent was in April this year, Wife drove jeep from Holland to Dunkirk, dropped it off with driver Jason and we carried on to Spain in Aston.

He beat us here, trucks always spottless and drivers very knowledgable. No idea what route they do through France but for anyone in Portugal or Spain I'd recommend.

You will get cheaper on the market but if anyones seen the trucks they'll know its always high end motors om board.

They'll pick up in UK at a convenient place and time.

I've not got any affiliation but have used them.Mail me if you want more details or a chat

Thanks guys for all the helpful suggestions. It's given me some food for thought and different permutations.

I really fancied doing it in my car but don't think it would be cost-effective to get it transported there and back, so I think we may look into hiring a couple of Classics.
