V12S in TRACK mode for Road use...
Discussion
Having read a recent response here from someone who had had a test drive in the V12SM demonstrator and stated that they preferred it in TRACK suspension mode I have been trying it too.
WOW!!!!!!!!
Just amazing.
Car is very very different.
Having come from GT3's its just like that really but I think we have all got used to driving in soft or sport when Track is where the action is.

I think the Track suspension mode is best used on perfectly smooth roads. The Sport suspension setting is a good compromise.
I leave DSC constantly on, several V12VS owners have had a moment with DSC on so for road use I would advise not to touch that button.
The instructor at my PDC told me that the Aston's DSC is very permissive so if the system sets in it means that you've done something wrong and it needs to set in. I don't know if that makes sense but from my limited experience I think the instructor is right.

Wow. The chap took that well though. What a mess. Flug be careful."Well, you certainly have to know what you're doing before you push the 'wrong button' ...or you'll have to go fetch the wheel."

The guy seems to think it's funny, I can't see anything funny him crashing a car. For sure he is stupid, wanting to show off and ending in a crash, he demonstrates he is a poor driver, he should go and do a PDC. I think you have to show some humility with these cars, if you think you're Schumacher, it's going to end like this one day! Or even worse!

Not really at the same level but I always drive my DBS with the suspension and DSC in track mode. It's much more stable and doesn't fishtail everywhere with the DSC grabbing at the rears to keep it straight.
Oh Dear!Bins .... cannot quite understand why you need to drive yours in that set up. I find the DBS so much stable than my old V12V and whilst it is well documented that I "drive like a girl" I think you know me well enough to know how I drive. The recent Monaco trip showed me - again - just how capable the DBS is as an all round car. I don't think I used anything other than SPORT. And that was only to make the throttle response position on the pedal more comfortable when doing the Alps. I certainly never suffer from fish tailing or DSC light flashing on.
And Rob - why "oh dear" ?

Answers on a postcard, please.
Rob, you been on the sauce again?
OMG - wont sleep tonight now! WHAT was that scruff-pot Rapide driver thinking - well other than really zo cool showing off?
I regularly drive mine with the 'anti tw@ttery' button pushed in (and then held in for 5") as I agree the man should control the car rather then the car controlling the man. Its truly a sublimely balanced family hatchback! No emasculating nanny state technology needed! But even in a GT3 RS (with a plastic non saucy dash Rob ) if you go into a corner too fast then guess what happens! And then blame Aston for having a DSC button!
Hope he got a tenner for the wheel on Ebay though ;-)

You guys must have some smooooooth roads. Using the firmest suspension setting on some of the roads around here would mean getting spat off into the nearest ditch at the first whiff of enthusiastic driving. As for DSC, having all the aids fully on only compromises hard acceleration if you are driving sanely and competently on the road - it shouldn't be interfering with cornering. DSC in 'Trac' mode is great for circuit driving. It is not at all intrusive, and I firmly believe that when it activates, it is telling me that I am f*@king things up, not the car.

However, I find TC in all cars very intrusive at the basic level and being able to modulate your right foot is the best TC you can have IMHO. Sport as a minimum, track mostly unless the weather is particularly poor. The driving experience in these modes far outweighs the risks, unless you simply cannot drive a powerful rear wheel drive car. Being able to balance the throttle without a slight bump mid corner causing the TC to interfere is at best annoying, at worst it destroys the fun. Do we not own these type of cars for the fun and not the software developers idea of what is and what is not safe? Try it, you may just enjoy it and you may just realise that all of these electronic aids are not really necessary, they have just made us all lazy.

Here is the closest I can find to a spirited drive for us on Corsas mid january with dsc OFF https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jF__B1xpJY
Jeeze! What a crazy idea! Uk roads are generally far too bumpy for track mode, basically outside of having a bit of fun at low speed on a completely empty road you're just asking for a repair bill, or worse. Rapid progress is better had at softer settings, unless you're a superstar behind the wheel, that is, a real superstars behind the wheel instead of one of those that realises they're not as they sit in a ditch at the side of the road, hopefully without having collected anyone else on the way.....
....Ok, I have history here, refers to widget free 996 GT3 that is pictured in my profile, that flattered, until it didn't, even though I was aware of how twitchy it could be on bumpy roads....
