Easiest way. buy a remove from Clive at cccharger.co.uk he can default it to be open or closed
then you have the best of both worlds. 5min install too

I've got that. That's not an answer to the question. Here's the problems with that system:

1) I've got to look at the buttons
2) I can't tell what state the exhaust is currently in
3) Wireless means I can never be sure the button press was received
4) MOST IMPORTANTLY, it doesn't contain an "always quiet" mode. It's got normal and loud.

I have my interior torn apart right now and I'm running wires. I want to do it correctly while I'm in this state.

My exhaust solution is different to most as I also do not want a remote fob.

I used to have the BR 3-way switch which gives all options and is fine but when I had all the usual BR mods done (including a revised throttle map to aid heel & toe) this made the "Sport" button obsolete. So this button has been re-purposed as my exhaust valves switch. Very simple, two modes: Off = valves closed always, On = valves open always. No OEM setting which is a bit pointless anyway IMHO. Importantly, you can select Off before starting the car enabling quiet start-ups in the middle of the night.

It's a great solution with the valves operated by an original switch on the facia which has a light on it that tells you which mode it's in. What I don't know is how BR did it but it didn't take that long or cost very much either. If you haven't got a "Sport" button you could put the pen in the centre console cubby hole and have one fitted in its place (which could even be custom made with an exhaust symbol on it). I'm really not sure why more owners don't do it this way.
