Slightly annoying issue I've got... The little 3 line LED light in the drivers side door handle on my V8V doesn't seem to be working. Looking at the manual the only vaguely relevant fuse seems to be the "door control module", but given that the window works as do the mirror adjustments I don't think that's the problem. The mirror heating also seems to be out, but having replaced the glass in the other one I know what a GCSE technology project the wiring is in there so it's probably not related.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

What year is your car and have they ever worked? The early ones look like they have LEDs, but actually don't - can't remember when they came in, but I suspect 2008.

Well it's a 2006 plate, and I know that they're supposed to work because the passenger one lights up smile

I do have the updated seats so I expect it's an early 2007.

If the passenger side works then its highly unlikey to be a fuse. It will be the LED's or wiring.
First check you've got power at the LED's and work your way back. I would bet the LED's have failed.

From memory when mine went it cost about £700 to fix at Aston Exeter, again I seem to remember the whole handle may have been changed? What I remember for sure though is that the replacement lights were a different colour to the originals, so I had different colours on each side!

Ouch, might just leave it if that's the case!

Unless the door cards come out easily and I can poke around myself...

Really surprised you have then on a 2006 - I didn't think that was usually the case. Wish mine had them!

They do come off easily. One hex key and a torx driver. Then follow the post found by that very helpful chap below.

Mine is a MY56 (2006) and has the 2007 spec which is part of what sold it for me. I've seen several other examples but nothing registered as a MY06 car.

Hi, just had the same problem, I took it to Grange Aston Martin Birmingham which is the new dealership, you have to replace the inner door handle as the LEDs are none replaceable, it took an hour or so and cost £279. Hope that helps.

It's just a green LED. You can buy the entire handle mech for many pennies or a 12v green LED for about £1 from places like maplins. It's an 8mm diameter plastic clip-in piece so you just need to fit the cheaper alternative using silicon to prevent water ingress....

The model years change in Sept or so...so a MY07 will be Sept 06 to Sept 07.

Any 06 car built for the MY07 run or after (so probably built around mid-year 2006) will have them. Earlier cars not...unless they've been updated later.

Handyman did post you the link to my fix, it is easy to do and only a couple of €. If you do not have two left hands you save a lot of money.

Cheers
