This is probably the saddest day ever! Without doubt the best green car in existence. Adam, I wish VAJ well (and also wish I was in a position to snap her up!) Are you planning a replacement or is it down to your overactive loins and too many kids??

Thanks Mark. Weird that it's popped-up in the Vantage Coupe section of the PH Classifieds. I'll have a word...

I may be looking to move to something later in the year, but nothing confirmed yet scratchchin

In the meantime, as you've alluded to, having two kids 18 months apart has meant using a two seater sports car has been pushed down the list frown

I've really ummed-and-ahhed about letting it go, mainly as it's not really losing any money and it took so long for me to find a manual 4.7 roadster with LW seats that wasn't in one of the fifty shades of grey! But it's done very few miles in the past couple of years and it could be time for somebody else to enjoy it in time for "summer". These cars love and need to be driven.

PS for anybody unaware, Mark's 'VAJ' reference is down the plate it's currently on which is 'V8V AJ' (which in its more MOT-friendly spacing is V8 VAJ). The plate won't be going with the car but, unless your initials are 'AJ', I can't think why anybody else would want it biggrin

Well, good luck with whatever comes next, be it a child friendly bus or something a little more cheeky. I simply can't think of a more desirable roadster, and I've lusted after your car since you bought it. Timing, however, is poor for me, otherwise it would be in my garage right now. And sorry for the VAJ reference, I'd forgotten not everybody knows her as that!!
All the best, M

Thought I'd share this image of a Spitfire on track in Pau, France. Track looks amazing reflected in the Duxford Green paintwork!

Great pic of a beautiful car cloud9

Simon, what is the finish on the wheels? Is it the optional satin graphite from the factory? They look a lot lighter (in colour) than than the graphite ones I've seen on other V12VSs....

It's just a fab concept

Am I misremembering, or did one of the Bond Astons have a shelf for a helmet a little like that ?

Well remembered. Yes you are correct it was made for Casino Royale as a one off. We looked at using the original CAD drawings for that car but could not make it fit in a Vanquish so started again from scratch whic has been a major undertaking for just 10 cars. New CAD drawings, a bespoke Carbon Fibre helmet dock, bespoke leather cut for the rear environment (they are normally cut by machine to a template). It is all coming together now and I'm looking forward to seeing the first car on the line in a few weeks time.
I'm sure it's a labour of love but am equally sure it will be worth it - the attention to detail is superb

for the eagle eyed you'll notice this is the luggage for 'Red 1'.
That's the kind of detail I obsess over. So each car will have luggage with the correct plane embroidered in red to correspond with the number ? If so, triple brownie points !

Affirmative. This detail will also feature on the headrests, the top of the o/s/f side strake and the sill covers which have been machine drilled. The headrests will feature a 'red' jet embroidered for the driver and a blue one for the passenger to represent the 'Circus' engineers who fly in the back. We have also built in a shelf under the helmets to hold the race suits (red for driver and blue for passenger obvs!).
just superb. I think I might go back to Q with a longer list.....maybe I'm not challenging them sufficiently !

so what is the unusual shaped piece of luggage ? look s alittle like a helmet bag (duffle shaped)

and what about the markings for the 10th car ?

Unique side strake design again....a lot of thought has gone into this....!

You've really taken this thread off track, since the car is not green. You should make this a new thread, not hedge rowed this one...

Correct it is a helmet bag. The Red's do have a 10 ship formation but it was just too big to fit on the headrests so we have gone with a single jet for that car.

Love it. I do appreciate it's the tiny details like that which make all the difference, but need a real eye for detail and incredible perseverance to get just right. This run of cars has a level of detail & thought process one would normally only find the occasional obsessive end user/owner getting in to and certainly not what you get more than once in a blue moon at a factory level. You really are to be congratulated. These will be very special cars

Simon - maybe start a new thread for these amazing Red Arrows cars? Would love to see all the details and pics as they emerge and it seems some people are getting their knickers in a twist about this being in a green car thread hehe

Also biggrin

Does anyone know what colour paint that is? The ad only says 'Special Q Paint'

This colour is viridian green, I had that very car out on test drive and what a machine it was.
