Thanks for the replies, I've asked the dealer to confirm if there's a tracker fitted, so fingers crossed there is if not I'll need to have one fitted.

If the car has a Bluetooth drive it above 50 with the radio on as my Bluetooth relay caused interference over 50 but did not spot until some months later. Reading the Sytner guarantee where my car came from the guarantee did not cover this type of fault.

My insurance company have asked what tracker is fitted? The dealer have advised they will look into it, does anyone know if an 06 comes standard with a tracker or if it was an option? Is there any obvious visual to confirm it has the tracker fitted?
...
It was optional in 06 I'm pretty sure.

However, my strong advice would be to get an insurer who doesn't insist on it. The fees for trackers these days are stupid, they don't act as a deterrent and scrotes know how to get round them.

The jokers at Vodafone wanted £300 a year for my Maser. No thanks, I'll just use it as a condition for finding an insurer that they don't insist on it!

The tracker on my old Vantage also used to kill the battery if not used for more than a few weeks - incidentally, get familiar with the battery cut-off if you're not using it as regularly as you'd like, very useful.

Regarding the Bluetooth, i've just had a JL Audio MBT-RX fitted to my old RS4 to bring it up-to-date a bit, and it's a cracking bit of kit and means the car looks as it left the factory and now means i can stream music without any cables etc. My car did already have phone prep Bluetooth however, i can't recall if that was an option or standard on your '06 Vantage (my old one had it).

Lovely cars.

Would go with insurer without the tracker too. Its just a way for you to pay hundreds per year extra to insure the insurer against total loss. The same insurer you are paying thousands in insurance too.

An early Vantage is not really a common prime target for theft. My insurer just put my excess up by a couple of hundred quid for not having a tracker fitted. On an earlier car they may not even do that.

Thanks for all the comments guys, current insurer would not insure the car for theft unless a tracker was fitted. Went to another company and got both cars £80 cheaper than what I'm currently paying for a 2005 sti👌🏻

Less than 48 hours to go now, still doesn't seem real that I'm getting my first Aston Martin. Bluetooth will be the first thing on the list I presume but will wait until I've had the car a few weeks

Picked up my first Aston Martin today, wow, the noise, the looks, everything is just amazing.

350 mile trip home, car was faultless, love it, few things to get sorted, drivers window there is a slight wind noise at 70mph, I'm thinking door seals?is this common?
Front headlights had no condensation on collection however when I got home there was some condensation in the corners, is this a common fault with headlights?

Again the noise, I love it.

The lights fogging up is a common "feature". The wind noise could be the door window drop is not calibrated correctly, I had the same with my passenger window, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVPEh-oQvjQ to reset it. Congratulations on the car, enjoy it!

Congrats on your new toy and I hope you have many years of joyful trouble free ownership from her.

Regarding your Nankang tyres currently fitted and as you state as new, I would not worry about them. They are a long standing and trusted brand nowadays so get the most out of them and if you feel you need to change them then do so at your leisure. I am pretty sure you wont be ragging the nuts off it around any tracks either so again they will be fine.

Its your car and your money at the end of the day for you to spend as you feel fit and how SWMBO allows. LOL

Cheers

Great news and enjoy in good health.

I had some wind-noise on the passenger side window which turned out to be the little quarterlight at the front being slightly out of alignment meaning the window seal wasn't engaging properly.

Alternatively, check that the window actually pops up when closed and drops when opened. A fairly common problem is these sticking leaving wind-noise around the glass. There is a reset procedure in the 'frequently asked questions' if this is the case.

Also worth checking because if the glass doesn't pop up when closed, the doors won't lock on the central locking.

Good luck.

That's me had the car a month and I love it, even with the awful Scottish weather she is still a joy to drive.

Few small niggles

1. Still have some wind noise above 60mph from drivers window, tried to reset using piston heads guide and did improve it but not fixed.

2. There is a series of lights in the passenger footwell that flash, the unit is a smarttire, all LEDs flash constantly, checked pressures at all corners and all ok. No warnings on the dash though?

3. Have a lot of noise from the steering wheel when turning at slow speeds.

4. Again at slow speeds there is a high pitched external noise every now and again when turning, haven't managed to pinpoint exactly where it's coming from as its so temperamental.

These are just small things and for a car that's 11 years old I'm probably just being anal, the car is a joy to drive and I've only had good comments from people about the car.

Kbooker thanks for the reply, unfortunately not, however my wife has this exact issue with her new car. Currently awaiting the dealer to confirm if they can rectify it as its very annoying for a brand new car to have this issue.

Point 4 could be brake squeal. Well documented on this forum and quite common.
Unless you find it particularly irritating, treat it as an endearing feature!

First major issue, near side rear led has failed, hoping it's covered by warranty, if not are the second hand units any good?
