New AMOC website
Discussion

I actually started this thread to discuss the new AMOC website and see how we could contribute to its improvement. Not for people to wash their dirty linen in public.
May I respectfully suggest that you continue your bickering somewhere else?

I agree James. Especially when the comments are so personall. CoMs are volunteers, offering their spare time to the club. It's like members don't realise these people have day jobs and are doing their best. Without them there would be no club, no tours, concours, racing, tyre kicking at the Ace Cafe, no friday fun, none of the ecclectic world of adamska haven, and all the positive aspects of club and forum. If people want radical change then volunteer and muck in rather than sniping from the sideline on PH. I'm surprised mods on here dont intervene and remove such nasty, personal posts. May I respectfully suggest that you continue your bickering somewhere else?

Back to the forum. I hope webby 2.0 gets it to work on tapatalk again. Like many others, my primary device to access the forum is a mobile device not a computer.

I think the frustration of the last week is because the web site and forum have been built by a professional IT company not a band of volunteers. On this basis I think it only reasonable that it should have been properly tested prior to release. Heck, even you had a reasonably long list of missing features and bug fixes last Saturday. Had this been done there would have been nothing to come out in the wash RichB said:

Rich yes absolutely fair dinkum on the forum, and I agree it's a monumental cock up, but I was referring to the comments on this thread that are totally unrelated to the forum, including nasty comments about named individuals.Wait...........a professional IT company build the new website plus forum, but did NOT use existing (best in class) forum software?
Ok, can not judge how great the new website is, because I can NOT log in with my credentials, since the professional IT company did NOT migrate the old user credentials to the new website.........how hard can it be!?!?
Ok, it seems now I have to do a password reset (but how?), but that is not enough.......then you also have to send an email to be able to get going (how 2005-ish is this.....did the professional IT company made this up???).

Interesting indeed. And good that they want to reach a younger audicence. Will they understand the concept of sending emails as a user to reset your password? :-) Ok, any chance that the existing AMOC user credentials will get imported into ThinkCRM, or do I really have to go to the hasslze to in fact re-register (via email)?
Let's hope it is worth it!

It used to mostly be (slightly) older people who bought Aston Martins, and the youngsters had to be satisfied with the Dinky toy or Scalextric versions.
Has all this changed around now?
I thought the average youngster finds it difficult to buy a home, let alone justify an expensive sports car for weekend use.
"We want to reduce the time our staff spend on manual processes and improve our member services.
"The fact that the UpriseVSI systems have done this previously with other major brands gave us confidence that they were the right company for us to work with.”
Good.
Don't worry, everything will be alright soon.

LOL, expensive day then unless you go the long way around to avoid paying to get into Wales first.
Thankfully this disgraceful tax that feeds the French (Vinci) in a deal done by Westminster will soon be reduced to £1.50 each way as the peasants have at long b last revolted! Not sure it will be actioned in time for the DBX & Concours mind DBPHiL said:

Ok, the professionial IT company now made it much easier to reset your password (that is required to access the new AMOC website with your old login name): reset link is send to your already registered email address, and off you go (you only have to create a new avatar). A first look at the website and forum is promising. All forum posts from the past all seem to be there, and it has a modern layout/look. Will explore it somewhat further now.
