Does your policy provide fully comprehensive cover on a car that is not owned, or leased by you ?

If so, perhaps an opportunity. Aston owned by wife, husband uses his Fiat 500 policy to drive Aston fully comp..

My policies are restricted to other owners cars being third party only.

The dealer was not bothered, because their policy covers all their cars. No need to see anyones policy document.
Yes my policy provides fully comp cover for the loan car which is why the dealer asked to see it which avoided me paying a similar fee to what was mentioned.
No idea what their policy says ( perhaps I should have asked to see it ) but it wasn’t really any hassle.
When my “ classic “ defender goes to an indy for its annual service and mot they just give me a discovery sport ( free lander ) and charge me a tenner which is fine.

My DBS being serviced at Bristol soon, not concerned about a BMW as courtesy car, but irked about £25 per day for insurance when my policy will cover the car regardless.
That would irk me too as appears they are charging you that simply as an admin fee to look at your policy ?!
The last time I took a courtesy car from an AM dealer I showed them my policy and received the car keys with no admin fee as took the service advisor about 5 seconds to see all was good.
Yes, my policy allows me to drive any car, of any value, which is loaned to me with full comprehensive cover.

Yes I’d obviously assumed that when I replied.
If they try that on next time maybe just refer to PH as to why you shouldn’t be paying it !
Thinking back I got my broker to email me confirmation from the Insurer that all was good and I forwarded this to the Dealer.

My last loaner was this. They even colour matched to my car. Very nice of them. If you are an SUV fancier it’s a very good vehicle.

You can see the family resemblance. A bit like old and young Marlon Brando really.

Following my earlier post I have now had a DBX as a courtesy car for just over a week. First impressions; it get a lot of attention - all positive. It’s big; very big. It drives beautifully; every single journey has been enjoyable, be it a long run on the motorway and B roads or the school run.

The bits I don’t like include:-
Poor visibility due to the huge C pillars.
Some disappointing quality control on quite a few things including stitching that doesn’t line up from dashboard to door card.
Door seals that seem to disappear up into the A pillar. Poorly positioned window controls on the drivers door that are basically impossible to use without taking your eyes off the road and twisting my upper body towards the door to get my arm further back.
The leather doesn’t appear to be one that will look good in a couple of years time.
The metal controls on the centre panel get bery hot in the sun - as in burn your fingers hot.
Control for the music/sat nav/telephone etc are way too difficult to use whilst driving and the control wheel/touchpad is just awful.

The bits I liked:-
Basically everything else. Great to drive, has the feel good factor. Very comfortable (odd thing is the passenger seat feels less comfortable than the drivers - my wife noticed it too even before I mentioned it). Loads of space. My kids absolutely love it - especially the cooled rear seats! It’s a cracking car and hopefully when it gets a facelift some of the above will be sorted.

Would I buy one? Certainly not brand new as the one I have is circa £180k and tbh I’d rather have two cars at that price point. That said if one came up in the right spec I’d happily spend £125k on one.
