Hi all,

Does anyone know if such a thing exists? I can find the details for 2012 and newer cars, but nothing for older cars. Need to get a quote for a 10yr/45,000 mile service on a 2007 Vantage, and wanted to know what sort of price it should be roughly.

Thanks,
Nick

You would be better off taking it to an Indie instead. Main dealers will always try and get more money out of you by saying something else is wrong or needs changing when in fact it don't.

As far as Im aware such a thing does not exist, quite simply because older car maintenance can vary so much, depending on whats been done already over the years. I ran an early Vantage for 9 years/83k miles. On a good year if nothing else needed doing, it was a £600 service at indy. Then it depends what else needs doing i.e when it last had gearbox oil, plugs etc.

Good independents use all the same parts as a dealer will, so any cost saving usually comes from the labour rate difference, which can be 2x if comparing a central London main dealer to a Northern indy garage.

As far as I am aware AM Cambridge advertise the fixed price service for older cars, mine is 2008. They gave me a sheet with the details on, don't have it to hand but a main service was £681 if my memory serves me correctly. There were a couple of non annual items that would be factored in but it looked very competitive.

Yes, it does exist, it was introduced across the dealer network any the end of last year - for example, see the AM Works schedule and prices at www.astonmartinworks.com/service-aftersales - from £651 to £820 depending on which service you need. Dealer prices should be similar.

Make sure you know what you are getting in the service.

I had my 10 year service at the start of this month. I didn't really intend to take it to AM but did phone for a quote out of interest (it was something in the ~£650 region I think). BUT - the lady on the phone told me that last year, Aston had changed the service schedule to "bring it in line with newer models" - which basically meant they quote a basic price for oil and filter change which does NOT include all the stuff the 10 year service used to include (i.e. brake fluid, coolant etc - these are examples, I can't actually remember what the 10 year service did have).

The indy's still seem to be quoting for a 10 year service which does include all the extra stuff (at least the two I checked were) and their prices were roughly the same as AM without doing that stuff. When it all got added on to the AM service as extras it came out a fair bit more expensive.

This is a copy of the mail I had from Works. Competitive I'd say.

I think I posted details of something like this a year or so ago - I was sent the details after I'd sold my car.

Seem to recall it may also have been a 3yr arrangement, or at least with an option for that.

Pricing looked OK to me, though would obviously be full of caveats with what would and would not be covered.
