So what have you done with your Aston today? (Vol. 2)
Discussion
Went for a blast through the local national park this morning. A bit of a gloomy day but a roadster friendly 21 degrees.
Graze you are exactly right. This thing is remarkable. Sections of the road are quite bumpy but this thing just glides over the bumps. Zero shake or flex, it’s a very stiff structure. You get the idea that it’s going to be rolly polly with such a smooth ride but it corners like it is on rails. The limits are so high I don’t think you’d ever find them on a public road.
I started in track mode for the engine but after thinking I was being shot at I switched back to sports plus. Glorious sound and not as many gunshots. The way they’ve tuned this ZF8 is also quite remarkable. The shifts are so fast and bang home like a very good DCT. What an amazing car.

So pleased for you, I knew you’d love it! They have soooo much grip.
Were you in Royal National Park or Ku-ring- gai?.
Both great bits of road from memory
Drop me a DM so I can get your details - I’ll be in Sydney a bit in coming months so might have time for a catch up one weekend
Happy cornering!

Ku-ring Gai. I live quite close. It is great on weekdays, a bit busy on weekends. That’s one of the great things about working for yourself you can go for a therapeutic drive as required So pleased for you, I knew you’d love it! They have soooo much grip.

Will do.
Mrs Panda is working away in Cheltenham for the rest of the week so have given her a lift over in the Aston. Despite numerous warnings that the bootlid doesn’t stay up this morning it dropped and the rather sharp corner hit her head with some force.
This was naturally my fault and a reminder that I warned it doesn’t stay up didn’t seem to lighten the mood. Fortunately no lasting damage has been done to either belligerent in the Battle of West London. The atmosphere on the drive is perhaps best described as frosty though. After dropping her off I was given the clear advice to ‘get the flipping boot sorted or else’
Fortunately the guys at Aston Installations are nearby and had OEM struts in stock and kindly fitted them as well. The car can now maintain an impressive erection with ease. I’m sure Mrs Panda will be very impressed and hopefully some flowers will clear the air when I pick her up later.
The car complete with Cotswold Mud: (erect bootlid photos available on request)

Finally got my V12VS wheels onto my Vantage with Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres fitted (the rears had been out of stock for over a year).
All ready for some track action this summer - Silverstone and Anglesey already booked.
I've had Corsas but not Cup 2s before and they were surprisingly forgiving in the pouring rain on the 70 mile journey home. Easy enough to break traction but predictable and progressive so not really an issue using them in the wet as long as you control the right foot. Can't wait to get them out in warm, dry conditions, especially on track. Anyone else tried Cup 2s on a Vantage (except GT8 owners who obviously have)?

Popped down to Denbies Vineyard in Dorking. A good number of Astons there, along with other marques. Good to chat with a few folk, including some who regularly contribute on this forum.
Good to meet you David, I haven't been to Denbies for a while but great turn out.Edited by ZT260SE on Sunday 7th April 13:12
