I was playing with the Configurator and realized that adding an Umbrella is not an option. This is the first time I can remember that you could not get one with your Aston.
Its in interior personalisation along with mats etc.

that is insane option pricing!
they are really charging 18k for B&O sound system? WTH. that's not realistic for this segment or anything outside something like a RR phantom, hypercar etc.

In fairness with base car pricing, even a 992, C4S is like 160-170 with options, MB SL55am, is 160+ with options. So to get an AM at like 180-190 isn't that far off the other "lesser" brands.
The audio is "only" $10,000 here in the US.

Is it weird that I'm wincing at how close that front wheel is to the kerb....?

One of the perks of living near Gaydon is you often see them out and about. Looks amazing in the flesh even when parked next to some smelly wheelie bins.

Some nice shots of the new Vantage in Supernova Red in Japan. I must admit, the non-traditional AM colors look good.

I think it's one of those cars that looks better in a colour, red, dark blue, green etc. rather than shades of silver.

Just a thought ….. a new vantage speced at £200k or a 23 plate 1500mile mileage v12 at £209 k ? …….. which seems to have dumped a lot of its depreciation already …

I really don't understand the last incarnation of V12 Vantage. I'd have new new vantage over the 2023 v12 every day of the week. I guess v12 will hold it's value better (from the current value, not from list)

I'd take a barely used DBS over either, at less than £200k, with plenty of choice of coupes or Volantes. Which is one of the problems Aston will have selling it's entry level new cars (Vantage and DB12) at £200k. Both for new to the brand buyers and those who see a huge cost to change

But you can also just about get into a low mileage well specced Ferrari 296 at £210k - if Aston want to sell their 2 door coupe to 'real drivers' , this is what they are competing with

The first UK Ferrari 296 arrived July 2022 according to the interwebs. Barely 1.5 years later, the second owner wants to move on from it. That car's not engendering loyalty even if the first owner was a flipper.

And that might even be its third owner in reality. When I was looking for my car that ‘previous owners’ was interpreted as the number of owners prior to the current one.

As said, it could be a difficult one to walk passed a number of DBS’s, many one owner and low mileage, with a Timeless warranty and some service pack left in order to spend up to another £50k+ on the new models.

Still, I wish Aston every success as they do look rather nice and could be my “new” (to me) car in a few years time.

Looks like the first owner probably lost 40% in 18 months so not just Astons being hit with serious depreciation in the current climate.

What, if any, of the current Vantage range will we be wanting (allowed) to drive in 30 or 40 years' time and will go up in value? I suspect the ones that are special, different, more interesting, even if underappreciated at the time (now). Chris Harris on the V8 Vantage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vB34dHauBFc
But, in truth, enjoy your car now, regardless of what "return on investment" they may or may not have. Almost certainly none will make money, the point is to drive these things!

Tenuous link prize!

A thread about the new new Vantage, and we have a link to Harris doing a really sub-par ‘review’ of its great great granddaddy.

No issue with the link, but Harris’ review was uncharacteristically poor.

I was asking myself the same question, used New V12 Vantage or New New Vantage, since they’re in the same price range.
V12 will always be special, was produced in limited numbers whereas latest Vantage is a “mainstream model” which will be produced in relatively high numbers (as many as they can sell basically).
The comparison to a DBS is interesting.
Flagship model can be had for about the same money as the new base model.
But I like the combination of a smallish sports car/shorter wheelbase with a big engine.
I never understood how the smaller V12 Vantage could be heavier than the DBS (Superleggera).

I’ve had mine too, for the evening of 18th March. Unfortunately, I’m working at that evening.

Still, good excuse to swing by the dealership at a later date.

Does anyone know if we’ll see it at Simply Aston in Beaulieu?
