Its Ion Blue, and had a look around it on Friday at Cheltenham Gold Cup, and really like the way it looks. Great improvement over the previous one.

I've been to a presentation of it on Monday, it was in it's "media color" of Cosmopolitan Yellow. Didn't think I'd like this color, but seeing it live on the new Vantage? Quite lovely! Overall, a beautiful car. The cabin has much improved.

Perhaps an Aston Martin flag may have worked better? That looks like it's prepared for a state funeral. wink

Well here’s the first “driving review” of the new new Vantage.

I was down at the Melbourne GP last Sunday and had the wonderful opportunity to chat to Berndt Maylander for a while. As many of you would know he is the guy that drives the safety car. Really really nice guy.

I asked him what he thought of the new one and he said it is quite a bit quicker and the handling is improved. He really loves the car. He said it is still a bit pre-production but close to final.

He said he still really liked the old one too.

With the regard to the famous “turtle” comment from Verstappen, Berndt said that he would of course like to drive faster and definitely can, but he is given strict instructions by race control as to how fast he should be going.

I asked about the black series and he said well it’s not fair to compare as that is pretty much a race spec car. But the Vantage does its job very well.

Went to the Milan presentation of the new Vantage yesterday. Nice car and certainly a step up from the previous model. But the new Vantage is huge - especially the width. 13cm wider than my 992 GT3 Touring which is not particularly slim. Why is the trend going in this direction when it is becoming impossible to find parking places etc anyhow.

It may not be the only reason, but a major is side impact regulations, particularly the pole impact test. It takes distance to manage crash energy and prevent it affecting the occupants and space to allow airbags to fully deploy during a crash event.

Agree but 2m wide is bonkers. Wider than an 812 Superfast and with that thing you don’t want to drive along in Milan traffic a let alone a trip to Portofino ending up in that car park at the roundabout where the road ends (and your relaxing weekend.)

Just checked the figures and it is definitely wide, same width as DB12 and wider than my DBS, which already feels too wide on a lot of roads where I live.

I posted the various Vantage widths a while back in this post.

With mirrors the latest vantage is actually 29mmm smaller in width than the previous Vantage if you include the mirrors, over time the body width has grown by115mm, one reason why I went back to a VH car.

VH Platform Vantage 1865mm width with mirrors 2022
2018- 2024 Vantage 1942mm width with mirrors 2153
2024 Vantage 1980mm width with mirrors 2124mm
