I agree...er not that i've hired an escort ..honestly! But surley folk that do rent these cars will feel like cheap suit on the Monday morning!?.... Also when someone asks the imortal "PH" question...; How long have you had it? !!!! Wouldn't you get sick of saying...Errr..well actually its not...Blah Blah...!? Supercar ownership is more than just one weekend thrash etc...If i couldn't afford to buy the car i wanted i'd opt for a classic, or certainly a more affordable used alternative eg Ferrari 355 or 993 etc etc Can understand why people would ..but just wouldn't be of interest to me. >> Edited by nastywej on Saturday 13th May 16:58

totally Agree. Mate - does nt have to hand his back - have to admit his is better looking than mine - but mine is obviously alot faster - but the people that go for these things are many after being seen in them I presume rather than pushing them and enjoying the day to day pleasure of waking up and driving something mad.

hello fellow piston-headers - some interesting points of view - thought I would join in as I am a current Ecurie25 member and a 997s owner.
Ecurie25 is great for trying cars that you have wanted to drive but would never consider owning. I do drive the cars quite sportingly and have had fun in F430's and the new M3 (used to go shooting when my previous car, an M5, was in the garage and BMW gave me a 320d) and have mostly had great fun. It has not all been a bed of roses however - I have had electronic differential overheats, gearbox failure and most spectacularly a rear light housing let go deep into 3 figures all on F430's.
I am intending to take the R8 for a weekend as I am considering purchasing and there is no better test drive than a weekend on roads of my choice without some shiny suited salesman to 'help me with my descision'...
If anyone is considering joining then I am happy for you to get in touch and I will share my experiences in full.

Same here - always happy to share my experiences too.
I'm on my 3rd year's membership now, and will be going for the 4th come renewal time. DBS and 997 GT3 RS have just arrived, and 430 Scuderia on its way - can't wait for that one...

agreed Beefmeister said: She is a beauty....
Thing is though - the 911 is still a 911, seen of every street corner.
This is an ASTON MARTIN. You feel special in the AMV8.
I didn't in the 997S.
Having taken both out, its Aston all the way for me...
And doncha just love the number plate on the Aston? Ooooh..... lol

Owning and club aren't incompatible. I have a Vantage at the mo, but may sell it next year - at which point i'll dip out of the ownership table for a year probably, and join a club for a year before dipping back in year after. variety is spice of life etc!

Yes that is just what its like, and not wishing to appear to promote the services of high class escort services you would get pretty fed up of cherishing her after about two weeks, they are high maintenance with a vengeance. I guess.
There is not a dichotomy between ownership and membership of one of these clubs. If I had just a little more capital than I do, I would have about six cars. I would still like to drive a Ferrari F430 and a Lamborghini Gallardo and I would scratch that itch by joining one of these clubs. I want to own a Ferrari about as much as I want to be married to some little Russian hotty who would require full time professional monitoring and might yet slip something in your Horlicks one evening. Then again, I might be very reluctant to invest in a V8V without maybe borrowing Ecurie25's one for a week and going to Reggio Calabria in it. Then I would know if I really loved it and whether it was worth buying your own. A demonstration, even for a weekend, can be very deceptive. You could drive a whole range of cars with E25 or P1 or whoever, and then just buy the one that really hit the spot. Rather than buying the one you have always lusted after but find after the aforesaid two weeks that its a bit disappointing. I also feel that in one of theirs you are inevitably going to push it just that bit harder than you would your very own lump of rotting metal and plastic. I know I would.
Finally, as JSG said earlier, one of the things the club would never do for you, is give you that sensation of relaxation and 'Yes, this is why I'm working hard.' that you get leaving the office and settling into something special, like an XJR or a 911. Or a Bentley or an Aston.
By the way has anyone any recommendations for these clubs, given that you are interested in modern cars not, for that purpose, classics?

Check out Club GT. Cheaper than Ecurie and P1 (about half the cost), have a 360, Lambo, Porsche, altho not the top top end stuff like 430s etc

I'm a member of P1 since September last year and decided to go for a second year instead of buying a new 911. It's simply more practical and I can drive super cars and exotics for the cost of the depreciation of the 911. I can't recommend them high enough. They always have the latest cars (just drove the DBS for instance) and the service is as good as a concierge service! They can help you with anything relating to cars.
And for some reason P1 is wife compliant, when a new 911 is not! I've started writing a blog about it, mainly to share pictures of the cars. I don't know if I can share the address here so it's in my profile.

I am not a great blog enthusiast, mostly because people, myself included, are inclined to think that they are a lot more interesting to other people than they really are.
However.
This one is well worth a look, nicely presented and with some really good pictures. You have had a very good time indeed by the looks of things, and no problems getting nice cars when you wanted them. Your comments on the cars are interesting and I would suggest more of them and in more detail. I also like that you name the restaurants and hotels.
The trouble with the Top Gear style of motoring journalism is that people are so busy getting hold of the latest most expensive cars and then thinking up smart and idiosyncratic remarks, that you really don't get much idea what the car is genuinely like to drive. You tell us that, which is good. Good advert for P1 I have to say.

Thanks for your kind feedback Cardigankid. It's really a blog to share my experiences with my friends and family, and with fellow petrol heads. I'll try to talk more about the cars and how I feel about them, however: - english is my second language - I'm not a journalist or an expert I'll post more pictures, stories and hotels recommendations... One of the next car I'm planning to try is the new 911 with PDK, quickly followed by the Scuderia. I kept my name anonymous as my colleagues and employees don't know of this P1 membership

Why not! Both of us could write about it on this forum! Have you tried the DBS yet? Have they received it?

Beefmeister, It's a stunning car to drive and you should definitly try it! Not only is it beautiful to look at and will get the heads twisted, it has got incredible dynamics. My biggest surprise was how easy the manual gear box was to drive and how precise the car was. You have to be careful in the corner though. I was expecting the car to be more like the DB9 and "float" on the road, when it felt more like a powerful XK-R. Prodrive recruited a few hundred engineers from Jaguar and this must be why! The car is so fast that you can easily get some oversteer though. The advance driving courses that P1 gets its members to take does come useful when driving the DBS and the Ferraris.
