Your comments about the 360/430 and their CS versions do no quite fit either. Allow me to make it clearer. The DBS, DB9 and Vantage are all completely DIFFERENT models. As you are doubtless aware, the 360/430 CS ranges are simply variants of the base models with added focus on track use.

Now that I have spelt things out for you, do have another "pop at" things...

DBS and DB9 are not completely DIFFERENT models, DBS is a DB9 with added extras. As the 360CS is a 360 with added extras, hence the comment which you felt didn't 'fit'.

Stanwan understands it, mabe you could ask him to explain it to you in a way you would understand, as I have failed miserably.

Clearly you don't get it, and on that note, I retire from banging my head against the wall rofl

Yep, sorry mate but the DBS is a DB9 model, the hardcore one. Just like the CS, one other little bit of nonsense nobody else picked up on was the comment that lambos cars look totally different. Unless im very much mistaken (and i'm not), the gallardos styling is basically a shorter and more quat murcielago, precisely what the V8 is to the db9. Another thing, the vanquish is actually not wholly similar to the db9/v8, you shoudl see them next to each other, or even compare some pics. To me they are quite distinct.

Happy to stand corrected...

However, visually I do think the Lambos do look quite different, but i guess thats subjective!

Hey I think they look different too, but the Gallardo does follow obvious cues form the murci, i reckon the vanquish looks pretty differnt to the vantage as well, for example.

'AdvocatusDiaboli' - those are shapes that destinguish an Aston Martin or a Porsche from any other car in the world. Very few prestiege manufactures can claim to have a design that lasts for so many years, it is a remarkable achievment to see a design evolve and alter with the times. Like it or loathe it I very much doubt Aston Martin or Porsche will ever deviate from their 'tell tale' looks. Thats is one of the many reasons which makes them so unique, exclusive and highly desireable machines.

Agreed. Let me be clear: I am not slating the designs, they are beautiful. I was simply expressing my personal wish that they introduce a "new" design. I think a lot of people on this thread feel the same. I just want another design to admire!

I like the way Aston is going with the diversification of the DB9. The vehicles based on the same structure include the base DB9, the Volante, the "Sport Pack" equipped DB9, the next step up to the limited DBS, the club racer DBRS9, and the real deal racer DBR9. It's a lot like the 911 (which currently has 10 street variants with more on the way), where they have a great design that's full of character and potential, and they give the buyer specifically what they want from that design.

On a slightly different note, I personally wouldn't want to see any radical departures from the current Aston mold for a while. The cars do all look pretty similar, including the Rapide, but without that consistency I think Aston would have a visual brand image in the same sense that Maserati does rolleyes. Bentley, Jaguar, Corvette, Porsche, Aston Martin - when you think of one of these, you know what you're going to get. Ferrari? It could come out looking like anything. That's just my take.

And like they say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
