It seems to be in a bit of a no man's land. It is obviously a DB9, although with very sexy addenda and faster, but I can't imagine Aston being happy that the replacement for the Vanquish flagship would be a DB9 superleggera, or Challenge Stradale, if you will.......

What I want so badly is to see an Aston to kick the LP640 & 599 GTB's arse: take the v12 to 6.5l, tune it to 620bhp, build a cutting edge lightweight chassis and get Prodrive to direct the setup from beginning. Now that's what I'm talking about... (Cue 'land of hope and glory')

For me one of the most awesome A-Ms ever was the Virage-which IIRC- a version of which did go to 600+BHP & maybe nudged 200mph. Now if they resurrected THAT model name & gave it the same chunky but stylish ballsy looks it could well be a winner.
Would probably do the biz against LP640/599 too.
p.s - has A M lost it's link with Zagato also for 'specials' ?

I'd like it in that fantastic Aston green with the yellow "lipstick" grille surround paintjob, and all the lower body changes in flat black please. dbs does look harder than db9, but with the whole body in one color, it does look a little max power. with the spoilers darkened and non-reflective, it'd look a little subtler but still less "captain curvy" than the db9... (inserted because I'm a dumb 'merican: or better yet I could just save half the cash and get a z06)

Its amazing how many Corvette owners like to compare their cars to everyone else's car, and then say "..."but mine costs half as much..."

Very strange.

I don't think it's a worthy successor to the Vanquish.

If this is supposed to be the new AM flagship, there needs to be a greater degree of separation between it and the rest of the range.

Interesting comment... Corvettes have a very special place for me, and Astons have an equally special but very different one. It doesnt really come down to price, its how much pleasure one derives from ownership. Thats why I have one of each. I'm happy to leave brand snobbery to pork and bimmer drivers..... Hehehe, but at the end of the day, if I could only keep one it would be the Aston !

Anyone who claims this is a DB9 wearing a poor body kit should simply wait until they're standing next to one in the metal. I spent a day with one of the Bond DBS cars last year - just me, a photographer and his assistant in a studio near Leighton Buzzard. After maybe an hour of staring at it, sitting in it, getting out and staring at it again, I made up my mind that it was the sexiest looking car on the planet.

I believe that you'll all think the same way once you've actualy had the chance to see one for real - it's a masterpiece and no masterpiece was ever done justice by a few pics on the internet the size of a fag packet. Max Power? Hardly.

Seriously, SERIOUSLY debating whether another 5 rooms on the house is excessive and a spending the money on one of these is a much more sound investment. weeping

It's just... too... gorgeous...

I am no.2 on my dealers list. I hope that it isn't long before Aston announces some details about the car as the wait is killing me!

Whilst this is a very good looking vehicle, for me its just not what Aston is about. If I wanted an out & out sports car I wouldn't be looking at AM, thats what the likes of Lamborghini/Ferrari/Porsche do much better IMO. Astons are about 'wafting'.

Standard DB9 for me everytime yes

as soon as i saw the new bond movie i fell in love with this car, hoping and wishing aston would put it into production so tht 1 day it could flash past me doing over a ton laugh if the sound that exhaust makes is half as gd as it does in the movie then it'll be the best sounding car ever made
